This match is really highlighting the lack of talent we have once you remove the experienced players like Williams, Ervine, Raza, Cremer, and Jarvis from the equation. The future is not bright, particularly given the inability to keep hold of our most talented youngsters, black or white.

Clearly we are not cut out for tests. If we want to play Australia in a test this year, CA will be looking at this and wondering what the point would be.

My theory is that we do not have the mentality for the it. We go in with this super defensive mentality and we forget all about scoring runs and rotating the strike, so we are on the back foot from the very first pair. Then we have bowlers who are probably only threatening for the first 10-15 overs and then after that we have nothing, so other teams run away with it.

I think Tests are an opportunity to start brand new. Get rid of most of these guys and have a core group of youngsters who are good and strong in this format to focus on it and train for it.

Our coaches are not also understanding of that test mentality, as they have not really played it nor do they understand it, so that does not help.

I'm over Prince big time.

To the contrary I think the future is exceptionally bright. The young generation coming through is the most talented we've had for many many years. But they are very young still and the next couple of years 'transition' period might be tough at times.

Hard not to feel very positive about the youngsters coming through - Madhevere, Shumba, Marumani, Myers, Bawa etc (and seemingly all committed to ZC).

Test Cricket deserve division 2 system, otherwise its tough for teams like Bangladesh, Afghans, Zim& Ireland to exist as Test Side. There is heaven & hell difference between top 4 test side and these 4 sides.

This is very true. How many matches have we ever won on spin friendly or flat pitches? If you prepare a batter friendly pitch we will always lose because our bowlers won’t take 20 wickets.

Was not happy that Kaia and Shumba weren’t given a go with the ball. We need to mix things up.

This game needed a Williams who could have batted through and then the middle and lower order would have contributed. Hopefully Taylor comes through in the second innings. He has to realize that his wicket is priceless, just like Williams was doing. He can’t go out the way he did. That was not a good shot if we are being honest. He didn’t get an unplayable delivery
