Also Kaia has only briefly opened in Logan Cup, and that was a long time ago, yes Shumba might have the temperament to open, but to say he has the experience in opening at domestic level is again incorrect, I don't believe he has opened in Logan Cup

Zimbabwe got to make a move so that world cricket takes them seriously as a test nation, for that they got to win test matches. Think tank needs to take surprise decision for results

There is no harm in making a positive move in trying new things. Kaia & Shumba will provide Zim some comfortable with the bowl as HSC track is now fully subcontinent type nothing for the pacers, with Chisoro, Wiiliams, Kaia & Shumba will be boost to a team, say horses for courses move.

Kasuza Masvaure pair plays test cricket of late 80s, both kills the scorecard, and on getting out after playing so many balls with nothing in the scorecard exposes middle order, even an experienced Ervine & Taylor will also face such pressure. Test cricket is changed every team has got an aggresor at the top, say Warner for Aussies, Markram for Proteas, Rohit for India, Conway for Kiwis, Tamim for Bangladesh, Marumani & Wes though have no experience but facing proteas attack they showed they possess skills. If the pair plays 15-20 overs in test as opener, total will be 60 or even 80 with 3 or 4 @ over as both are quality stroke maker and also has good defense. Middle order will play with much ease as bowlers will be under pressure on getting hit.Zimbabwe needs to change their approach, else i don't see Zim making into the Test Championship

We have tried the approach of having the new guy who is in form in limited overs open or bat in the top 3 in test matches. Mire and Musakanda were given a go and it didnt work. Test match cricket is completely different.

Shumba doesnt have the experience yet to open but I am sure one day he will

Mire played only 2 test as opener, Musaksnda 1 test as opener. Is it enough to make a call it didn't work.?
