Chakhabva will probably play because of the experience factor.

He will only be useful if Zimbabwe are something like 89-6. I'm sure he can play a test kinda innings to get them up to parity but it will be slow

Also the fact he is the only wicketkeeper in the squad.

This bio bubble stuff is tricky. The problem is if they mess it up once we will never be able to host again. They cant take chances.

I expect a better performance with Wes, Marumani, Raza and Burl in the mix. Plus Chatara as well. Bangladesh are also missing a few guys. It's only fair. These are crucial games but we also need other guys to step up.

For me

Marumani
Wes
BT
Myers
Chakabva( wk)
Raza
Burl
Jongwe
Wellington
Blessing
Chatara

Chakabva is going to play whether people like it or not. He cant clear the ropes to save his life. Let him take the Ervine role and knock it about whilst anchoring for Raza and Burl and Jongwe.

I got a feeling Myers is going to come good. It's also raining right now. Let's hope tomorrow there is some clear weather

I also expect if we get smashed tomorrow they will bring Ervine and Williams back

Guys, its important to temper expectations for the youngins. International cricket is mostly an unforgiving environment. Madhevere and Myers have more talent than anyone since the Big 4 debuted some 15+ years ago. I would put Musakanda right up there with those two as well. Havent seen Marumani and not overly impressed by Shumba from what I've seen of him.

Bangladesh are going to be without Mushfiq (family emergency) and now looks like Fizz might be hurt as well. Looking forward to Mosaddek and Nurul cemenring their spot in the side, and also perhaps getting a look and Ebadat in white ball cricket if Fizz is injured.

Tamim
Naim
Shakib
Mosaddek
Riyad
Nurul
Saifuddin
Miraz
Taskin
Shoriful
Ebadat

Batting is a little thin there, but ddnt want to see that hack Mithun. Should still be enough firepower especially with Ervine and Williams out.

The Bangladesh team at the present is light years better than the Bangladesh team 10 to 15 years ago you idiot! And the Zimbabwe team in early 2000s was way better than the present team. And even Ireland and Afghanistan seem well ahead of Zimbabwe now

Makes me laugh everyone who is selecting Marumani as their keeper. If you watched the South Africa series you would realise that he is not a keeper.

My XI
Marumani (wk…….joking  )
Taylor
Myers
Raza
Madhevere
Chakabva (wk)
Burl
Jongwe
Masakadza
Muzarabani
Ngrava

Bowling attack looks a little weak but I’m happy with that. 3 pacers then 3 spin options plus Raza but I doubt he will bowl. As much as people don’t like masakadza, he can be very economical and apply pressure.

It was somewhere around the start of the recently concluded series in UAE against the Afghans that I left few comments on Chibhabha's Twitter, in gest, asking and pleading with him to fuck off from that team for good and unexpectedly he replied to my comments saying, " who will put food on the table for my kids bredda ", at that time I never took into consideration how Zimbabwe as a country is struggling economically and the living standard of the general population in the country. In retrospect, I feel for the guy coz like many others he also has kids and family to feed and there are not many good opportunities to earn money in the country so naturally and instinctively he will fight tooth and nail for a means to earn for his family. Nepotism or favoritism run deep in most of the societies, qualifications or merits do not matter as long as you have good connection at the top. Clearly in Chibhabha's case, it may not be the case that he wants to play to leave some kind of mark or legacy and go out there on the park to prove some people wrong for that matter. He clearly is hanging around to try to earn some pennies for his kids and family and as a human being I can respect that. The Zimbabwe cricket fan in me says " good riddance!" But being a fellow human being i feel for the guy, too bad he was not gifted with talent to play at the highest level and I hope and pray that he could find other ways to earn for his family since personally I hold nothing against the man.
That’s exactly what they do.
All of them. Except the ones with options.
That’s where strong election policies have to come into play,
You can’t gift spots just because he’s a poor dude with no cash, that’s not how international sport works.
