This is true. If they really had a grudge they would have leaked all of this when he retired without warning or an official notice. Also don't know how you can blame them for not paying players when they were suspended during that time.sam_ahm wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 10:57 amWe were blaming Rajput for Brendan's retirement and bashing up ZC for not honouring his retirement by releasing a statement.
Rajput and ZC get bashed up for literally everything, whether they are responsible for it or not
Most of the time we just do not know what is happening behind the doors so I think we should avoid assuming things as much as possible.

The media release by Brendan Taylor is expertly drafted. It invokes a sense of wanting to be on his side, its tone draws you in. If ever you fall short, thats how you draft a statement. He must have courted a great PR firm

Talk about twisting the facts that we have been told.zimlover wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 9:27 amSo BT is a. Drug addict with a cocaine addiction, plus throws games and was getting paid 20k US dollars a month.
Got lured by a Bussiness man he did not know, gets flight to India to meet people he had never met before.
Does some cocaine, that’s a lot of bad decisions by some one like BT.
So ZC knew all along and didn’t do anything to disrespect him, they let him play and even stood in as captain.
There is no evidence games were thrown and BT denies this in his statement similar to the shakib incident.
Secondly, whatever he was getting he wasn't paid for six months which is bad from any employer.

I wonder if cremer actually walked away from the game due to the issues that he could of been aware of. Going to the uae could have been a good out for him. I always found it a bit strange he retired based on how little Zim actually play although his kids would have been without a parent at times if he continuedCrimsonAvenger wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 9:32 amWhat an miserable mess he got himself into by not reporting it.
Yes, this would have managed to nip it in the bud. He got himself into a corner by not having a clear thought process at that point. Sad. Hope he can get out of this mental rut he has gotten himself into soon through the rehabilitation.
Also, lot of respect for Cremer, who did the right thing with such a scenario, despite being very close to Streak and Taylor who both should have done better.

Ya actually due to suspension players were not paid at the time. It was Infact known that it is the reason.TapsC2 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 11:18 amThis is true. It's not about me on ZC side or other side, I just want to see things as they are and be fair in my comments. I'm mostly all for players.
Does Brendan realize what kind of a role model he was and how this impacts the youngsters? Why will a young kid want to take up cricket if he sees the state of ZC is such that their best batsmen of the era has to take money from strangers to spot fix. Seriously folks? I love BT but this was sheer stupidity, no words for this really. He has spoiled a lot of things here.
Re: Taylor Retirement Story
The difference with BT and Shakib is that BT got paid. Shakib didn't end up receiving any money or bitcoin etc if I remember correctly. The full ICC statement on this will clarify all this I'm sure

Re: Taylor Retirement Story
So did ZC give BT their full backing in March 2020 until October 2021?
Because they were officially aware, but continued to select him, renewed his contract in September 2020 and indeed even made him captain for some of those matches last year.
So what changed?

Oh FFS, Not another one! What a dough nut! Bloody plonker!
Re: Taylor Retirement Story
There's been a few players with cocaine or other drug use allegations and more such as Alex Hales, Gary Ballance (missing drug test allegation by rafiq) , BT. I think it reflects the wider use of the drug in the UK.
