It's not until 2024. Qualification is probably next year.
The future of the coaching staff
Re: The future of the coaching staff
How is Jarvis still collecting a ZC salary? It can only be that he still had time on his contract and he's being paid off monthly. He's surely learnt a thing or two that he could pass on.
In a different environment you'd find ex players willing to hold clinics or have chats. Carlisle is another, but ZC and him are like oil and water

Rajput still has a job with us? If the ZC board had any shred of self-respect, they would have fired him ages ago. I guess having a yes man is more important that actually winning.

Not related to the thread but just saw this video on my FB feed, on this day in 1999 Zimbabwe beat South Africa in the WC, what a brilliant team it was, the body language, the intensity, fieldinh, blinder of catches, just wow! Imagine having RSA at 40/6 in a WC, can we even dream of that now. I'm telling you looking at that footage I realized all over again what the shit has ZC come to. Seriously there is no comparison.

Different world in 1999 as well mate.
The cricketers of that era (from any team) were tougher I think. They were pampered and put on such a pedestal as they are now days due to T20 and the IPL. County cricket had better professionals for the entire summer and there was more patriotism for playing for your country. Zimbabwe as a nation was different as well.
Guess we can only reminis about those years.

Absolutely agree on all those points. The patriotosm point you make is almost entirely gone now, they just turn up to pocket money and that's about it.sloandog wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 8:59 amDifferent world in 1999 as well mate.
