Amidst all this, AccuWeather, you legend.
Re: Zimbabwe VS Scotland T20WC2022 21st October
I started watching the game on the way home from the airport on my phone before getting home around 6 overs into the Scottish innings.
It’s awesome to see a Zimbabwe pace attack of 3 tall fellas bowling at good speed & causing issues. I know a few of us (Sloandog for sure) have always craved a threatening pace attack for Zimbabwe.
As a bowling unit they are really strong, Burl & Jongwe add the variation & options that is nice to have up ourselves, yet not needing to rely on.
Batting is definitely a bit iffy still & we do seem to rely on Raza a lot atm. But considering there’s only Munyonga & Manade on the bench, I don’t think there should be any changes.
Let’s just hope someone like Regis or Williams can find their touch, or Ervine can build on his innings last night. Slug is the type of player who has extended periods of top form or terrible outs, so let’s hope it’s the former now.
I am worried about his body holding up though, with five games in quick succession will he be able to get through? I wasn’t able to watch the Windies game but I assume he had a lower leg or back niggle?

Official reason given was asthma attack but I agree, Ervine staying fit through the entire Super 12 is a question but fingers crossed he stays ok and gets some big scores.jaybro wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 2:16 amI started watching the game on the way home from the airport on my phone before getting home around 6 overs into the Scottish innings.

Pace department is by far the best ZIM have had since 2004. Blessing-Ngarava-Chatara are a far cry from the Mpofus, Panyangaras, amd Co.
That being said, Super 12 sides will pose a much stiffer challenge than going up against the Associates.

So this means Evans watches from the bench for the rest of the tourney?

I'm fairly sure that Jongwe is playing as a specialist batsman at the moment over Munyonga and Madande.
With Raza being a banker for his 4 overs and Williams doing a decent job an extra bowler is not needed. Can't see Evans getting a game at this rate as Jongwe is a better batsman and has batted well this tournament with 28 and 20 not out. Can't drop Jongwe for Evans as it would be unfair and would weaken then batting.
Re: Zimbabwe VS Scotland T20WC2022 21st October
I would like to try Evans in ome game at least just to see how he goes, don't get me wrong , I'm not against changing a winning combination, my point is that Zimbabwe can potentially have a 4 man pace attack with all four very capable bowlers. When was the last time we had such a situation with Zimbabwe??
But yeah, other than Jongwe I can't see anyone else getting dropped. May be Shumba but that can happen only if Evans proves himself as a genuine all rounder.
An alternative could be to keep shuffling the pace bowlers and surprise the opposition.
