The problem with losing Williams and Raza - is we have 4 spots to fill in the test XI :( Rest of the top order has no serious second dimension to them. Serious problem. A safety first selection in this context might bring Tiripano back into the equation as well...
Please no, I hope we have seen the last of Tiripano’s bowling in Test cricket. Always appreciated his batting heroics, but picking a bowler because he could hold a bat was always infuriating for me.
Yeah, but sticking the right balance might lead to crazy selection choices.

By the way what are people's opinions about Tony Munyonga getting a shot in the middle order? He seems to have played some gritty Logan Cup knocks this year.
No thanks

Gumbie bounced out, Joseph will cause carnage on any pitch

Gumbie is a poor cricketer, nobody will ever convince me otherwise even despite his recent form.

Munyonga is talented, I wouldn't mind him being around the squad at all. I'd always much rather have younger unproven players than people like Gumbie, Chibhabha or whoever who have been around for donkeys years and still aren't convincing.

This is horrific. Feel sorry for the selectors having to pick a couple from this bunch to join the main squad

Kaitano might not be in form but he is good against pace. Chamu too. If Williams isn't playing then Ballance and Ervine will probably bat 4 and 5. We need 2 other guys who are comfortable with pace. That's all that matters. We don't play enough tests to worry about development.

This is also how Maruma finds himself in the team then somehow has the worst luck possible

Yeah, Maruma to score big now and get his test berth again. Same old script.

Gulf in class is laughable. Our medium pace trundlers were embarrassing yesterday. Then this lot come on and bowl some serious pace bowling.

Our batters have looked like they haven't played cricket before
