I haven't watched any of the action, but at least these are the 5 best bowlers available from our system, surely - with Blessing and the all rounders away. Possibly Chivanga for Nyauchi a debate but other than that, we have the most deserving line up of bowlers taking the field. Has to give some credit to the really placid wicket and obdurate batting by WI as well?

Two days without a wicket
They are good bats though. Brathwaite we know about - probably in the top 2 or 3 Test openers globally the past couple of years. Chanderpaul looks quality. Not quite as weird set-up as his old man but still quite a unorthodox stance, really works for him - he's looked as solid as anything. Classy. Oh how I wish we had openers like these

Kriterion once pointed out a few years ago we will always lose on a flat wicket because the other teams will out-bat us. He is being proven right again.

Chivanga 100% has to come in next match. You can take the wicket out of the equation when you are as fast as him

He’s only a few kmh faster than Ngarava. Definitely not as fast as everyone believes. Maybe 140 on an effort ball but generally 135.
But he has that aggression and something a bit different. His Logan Cup record is excellent and he deserves a game. Nyauchi/Evans/Ngarava look like they won’t take a wicket even if this was a timeless test !

This is embarrassing. I haven't watched the game except a few overs here and there, but it looks like Zim won't get any wickets, it will be like a 500/0 declaration. Total crap.

Generally yes, but ZIM did get two draws (without any rain help) vs WI and SL in recent times on flat wickets. Much to my surprise. But this is a much weaker ZIM batting lineup here and a much stronger opposition bowling attack.

He hit 145 vs Bangladesh last year. Averaged 140. Makes him the fastest in ZIM by some distance. Now with his physique, I suspect he can only sustain that kind of pace for 2-3 overs and drop down to 135 by his second spell.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 5:18 pmHe’s only a few kmh faster than Ngarava. Known to bowl about 130-135 consistently in the Logan Cup. But he happily tells everyone he bowls 145+ all the time He’s quite a ‘character’. I’d give him a game regardlessKriterion_BD wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 7:28 pmHe hit 145 vs Bangladesh last year. Averaged 140. Makes him the fastest in ZIM by some distance.
