We have 2x Tests, 3x ODIs, 3x T20Is away to Afghanistan in the FTP due in August. WCQ ends 9th July so may be late July start.

The qualifiers are slated from 19th June to I think 10th July, so not sure if they can squeeze in the series before that. In that case the series may happen right after the qualifiers while Afg plays Ban during the qualifiers.

Had it happened before qualifiers, that would have been much better.

Yeah it would be hard to fit in a longer tour before then. But if Zimbabwe does end up playing ODIs v Netherlands, Pakistan & Namibia as mooted, that’s probably enough match practice and also a good mix of opposition leading into the qualifiers.

Netherlands in April, potentially followed by a Pakistan series and also some warm-ups with Namibia before the Qualifier.

As per cricinfo, Mukhulani is going to be part of a 3 member working commitee that will look into the aspect of Zim, Ire, Afg playing more test matches in the future along with other issues. Some good points raised by Mukhulani mentioned in this article.

Interesting, but I can’t see Australia ir England going out of their way for anyone. India seem more helpful but they’re the prettiest girl at the dance, so they have no shortage of dancing partners.

Not sure it will achieve anything but kudos I suppose to Doc for trying.
It’s pleasing that Zimbabwe won’t give up on Test cricket.

Yeah, no matter what we say about Mukhulani, whenever I've read his inelterviews I've found him to speak the right things. Wheather he implements the same in ZC is a different story but he sure knows how to maintain his image and always aspires for big roles.
