Very good to see a full strength squad, so used to seeing injury depleted sides for Zim, so it’s a nice change.

It also ensures that Dave must make the tough call on what to do with his batting lineup, I kind of get the feeling we’ll see Marumani open & keep in the first game, just because it would solve a lot of issues if he works out in that role.

Also in regards to this series, Bas De Leede is out of both tours for the Dutch, which is disappointing as I’d like to have seen him play.

Some seriously normal selections for a change with no Howlers.
Im thinking maybe chibhaba was dropped because of his performance as a senior playerd in the test series vs west indies. Jongwe and shumba havent done much either.
Madhevere saving grace is he is a multi dimensional cricketer and has been bowling very well. His batting has been awful though and that needs to turn upwards otherwise we have another tiripano on our hands. Jack of sll trades but master of none.

I'm dissapointed Jono Campbell is not part of the squad , his time must come sooner rather than later. Looking forward to seeing all the big guns playing together.

At full strength the squad picks itself really. Jongwe is the only one who I feel might feel a little hard done by. Chamu wasn’t dropped really, he was only in as a replacement player.

How do you guys rate this current squad? On paper have we had a squad this strong since 2004? Not a perfect squad at all but I'm trying think which post-2004 period we would say could match the squad. Chakabva is the obvious miss but besides him I can't think of any changes I would make

With a bit of luck and some belief I think they could pull off some wins against decent opposition.

It's more about rating the playing eleven once they announce it. I like the Kaia, Ervine, Ballance, Williams, Raza, Burl batting line up. I think it would be a mistake to put Madhevere or Marumani in there.
Evans is not fulfilling his role as a bowling all-rounder because he's not performing with the bat, but you almost have to pick him in case he does come off and get us some vital runs.
Madande is not fulfilling his position as a keeper batsman either. Oh for BT!!
So spots 7 and 8 are currently weak. If one or both make a few runs it would change the game for us.
I feel Mavuta has earned a run, but you could swap him for Madhevere in the hopes that he had a good day with the bat (batting at 7). He's a world class fielder and can bowl, he's hard to ignore.
We have no idea how Mazarabani will perform because we haven't seen him in ages.
Ngarava or Chatara. Either or.
The likelihood of everyone having to bat remains high.
When was the last time we posted 300/5?
At the pace our seamers bowl there's no excuse for not being a lot more accurate.

On paper it looks hopeful.

Yes, one of the best squads picked in recent times. It helps that everyone is available. Every one who deserves to be there is there, and everyone who doesn't isn't.

I second with kriterion .2018 wcq squad was stronger on paper. You had peak Taylor then .and I would still rate mazakadza better than madhevere in batting while moor was surely better than madande then .in bowling we had Kyle Jarvis who could swing miles ..surely 2018 squad was better in my opinion and how could one forget cremer none of the current spinners come even close to his wicket taking ability ..although one thing that we missed in the final uae game was hard hitting ability of burl
