Kaia
Wes
Ervine
Ballance
Williams
Raza
Madande
Burl
Evans
Ngarava
Muzarabani
For me.
We already have four spin options in form of raza, willo, burl and wes. I don't think there's a need to play an extra spinner. Additionally depth in batting has always been helpful for us. So I do reckon this works.

Absolutely it's a no brainer, easily the strongest side possible with the best balanceCrastle_cog wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 8:18 amKaia

Because Mavuta is a far far better bowler than Burl, has been in great form and really deserves a game at least.mnelson68 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 8:05 amSame team but why on earth would you not play Burl in front of Mavuta ? Burl is the biggest hitter in the team and if he gets an opportunity to bat in the last 5 overs he will dominate. Nothing gained by playing Mavutasecretzimbo wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 7:47 amKaia

Burl has been poor, it's good that we have competition for places.

It doesn't matter if he's a better bowler than Burl , there are other options and the need for a front line spinner isn't requiredsecretzimbo wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 8:25 amBecause Mavuta is a far far better bowler than Burl, has been in great form and really deserves a game at least.mnelson68 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 8:05 amSame team but why on earth would you not play Burl in front of Mavuta ? So what are you picking him for then? You don’t need his spin? But he’s offered nothing with the bat either and you want him to bat as low as 8! What a waste of a spot in the team.
I’m almost certain that Burl sits out tomorrow so I guess we’ll wait and see.
And you absolutely do need a front line spinner in a 50-over match.

Haven't batted 50 overs in the first 2 games, an extra batsman will allow for more runs being scored and to actually bat the 50 overs out. Burl can be a Floater depending on the situation. Mavuta can be the front liner in test matches not required in the oneday format with Raza , Williams , Madhevere and Burl able to do the job . By the way i do think they will pick Mavuta to play and drop Wellington because that's typical of the shit they do.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 8:58 amSo what are you picking him for then? Been saying for some time that I think Chatara has lost some edge. Very poor captaincy to go to him considering Evans had gone for 2 rpo and has shown he is capable of closing out a game, most recently against Pakistan in the T20 WC.
Not sure what the go is with Evans and why he gets treated the way he does. He isn't a batter, so lets not expect much of him there, but if he is bowling at 2 po in a game, then go to him.
Burl really needs to step up now. It's getting a bit silly that he just can't take his opportunity when he gets it. He really needs to be a better, particularly at the International level.
Williams should have a statue outside HSC. The man is just too good. We need him in cotton wool before the Qualifiers.
Madande showing he has some quality and skill. I just hope he keeps progressing in this vain and doesn't become another Matsi victim.

Burl is Malcolm Waller all over again. Very similar players actually.

I disagree. He's a light year ahead of Malcolm. Way way more ability.

He's better than Waller without doubt. I'm not necessarily doubting Burl in general, I'm just saying I want to see Kaia back in the side and Burl's minimal contribution over the past couple of games means he's the batsman I'd leave out tomorrow, on this occasion.
