Something I wanna point out is the improvement in Madande's keeping from the Irish games. He's had some good moments and has been relatively stable.

Kaia can come back for Wellingtonsecretzimbo wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 11:58 amHe's better than Waller without doubt. I'm not necessarily doubting Burl in general, I'm just saying I want to see Kaia back in the side and Burl's minimal contribution over the past couple of games means he's the batsman I'd leave out tomorrow, on this occasion.

You're going around in circles.
Burl at 8 is a joke. Might as well just play 10 men.

What sort of team picks someone especially for their batting and then puts them at number 8?
It's harking back to that dogshite '8-3' mantra people on here used to go on about. Small team mentality.

8-3 I think does work for Zimbabwe, because Williams offers decent left arm off spin, Wes and Raza decent spon and Burl. Then you have three bowlers that’s 70 potential overs coveredsecretzimbo wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 1:06 pmWhat sort of team picks someone especially for their batting and then puts them at number 8?

For me you need 3 seamers, a frontline spinner (Who you can guarantee can bowl you 10 overs very reliably every time) - the all rounders are a bonus.
Picking a batter at number 8 screams 'The coach has no faith whatsoever in the top 7' - which if it's the case, the coaching staff have much bigger problems to deal with than the number 8.

I think with Zimbabwea place in the hierarchy, everyone would understand that 8 bats over 7 as an insurance is good. We all know how notoriously unreliable we are. It’s lack of fort hand lack of talent compared to the best teams.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 1:21 pmFor me you need 3 seamers, a frontline spinner (Who you can guarantee can bowl you 10 overs very reliably every time) - the all rounders are a bonus.

Your 3 seamers represent the 3 tail Enders. Raza and Williams are reliable ten over soinners with Burl and Wes yo intersect that.
Raza is ten countries best attacking spinner (or at least equal give or take) and Williams is just as good as say, Wellington.

Don't want to see Chatara anywhere near this side tomorrow. If I turn on the app and see him bowling 65mph pies I'm done

There are 4 all rounders in the side , it makes sense. 3 seamers and 4 spinners is ample enough bowlers it just means the batting depth is better to score more runs.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 1:06 pmWhat sort of team picks someone especially for their batting and then puts them at number 8?
