Ireland in Bangladesh 2023 | Test, ODI, and T20I series

Where’s Josh Little?
From our last series he’s head & shoulders above the rest of the Irish bowlers

Little was originally supposed to play the ODIs but picked up a niggle and is being rested for the IPL. If this was a SL series, he might have been risked.
This is Irelands second string pace attack. Little is very good, Mcarthy and Young are useful. The current attack is bang average except Adair who is useful.
McBrine is a decent spinner.

Lol Ireland with a win out of nowhere. Their first win vs BD in Bd.
Word on the street is Shakib is skipping the Test but Liton will stay behind and captain, in return for skipping the May Super League tour of Ireland.
Will be an interesting Test match. Hopefully we get flat tracks and not a raging turner.

That experience will be clutch. His 8 caps is probably more than the rest of the squad combined!!

Rare that you get someone making their First Class debut in a Test match but Ben White is doing that today.
How Ireland have continued to get their entire Full Member funding allocation over the past four years despite not playing first class cricket is beyond me

Glad to see Tamim playing...his participation was in doubt after his son fell ill. Feel like its been forever since I've seen him in whites. Shakib and Liton were denied NOCs for the IPL (I move I applaud)...and Shakib with the bombshell news that he's pulled out of the IPL entirely to remain fit for Bangladesh + his numerous business ventures. You don't see players de-prioritize the IPL every day. Massive respect for Shakib and I've been his biggest critic over the past few years.
Taskin missing is a big blow. He really shouldn't be playing all 3 formats. I would keep him for Tests and ODIs, or just white ball. Either or but shouldn't be both.
Really don't like the idea of Shanto opening, although he did OK vs India. He's more of a natural #3 IMO, although he started off in age group as an opener I believe.
Hope he scores big here.
IRE ate 65-3 at lunch going at 2.5 an over which is acceptable from a Bangladesh perspective. We really should not allow them to bat out the entire day. I predict either a flurry of wickets or Ireland consolidating in the 2nd session.

Surprised to see this Irish Test side, seems short on a few names like Stirling & Little plus others like Young or McCarthy.
Surely Hume isn’t one of their best seamers?

Stirling has been rested (WC year). McCarthy is injured. Little is at the IPL.
