How the hell are Scotland so good?
Over 150 cricket clubs, almost all with their own grounds and nets. Access to the English system, English leagues, universities, etc. And a very long cricketing heritage.
Add to that the influx of white South African players after the quota system in SA. McMullen, Sole and Greaves all are South Africans
I didn't know that!

Chris Greaves also moved to Scotland about 15 years ago and for I believe completely non-cricketing reasons. Nothing to do with the quota system in SA in his case

Comparing the 2 strongest 11s, I'd probably say this would be about right if I picked an 11:

Cross (wk)
Ervine
Munsey
Williams
Raza
Berrington
Burl
Watt
Ngarava
Sole
Muzarabani

5 scottish 6 Zimbabweans. McMullen would probably go 12th man.

Can see it being a close game in a couple of days, forgot how good Scotland actually are. Imagine if they still had Macleod and Coetzer :o

Wowee McMullen walks straight into that side , a fine allrounder . Averages 44 with the bat and 18 with the ball in odi's, he's a star

Big total for the Dutch

Oman do have batting ability, but their efforts in the field suggested to me they’ve run out of puff.

This could be a big win for the Dutch.

Curry sides are always lazy in the field. I don’t know why.

Mistook Sole with Wheal. Another very good bowler who is missing this tournament bc of county but the point remains.

Teams like Oman and UAE basically Indians and Pakistanis are always uninspiring in the field and in the past they would have good bowling and bad batting but with these two its the opposite which makes Ireland make even look more like jokers for losing to Oman. They have 3 over 40 players in the team

de Leede is a box office player for the Dutch. You can see the difference between his aura and other Dutch players. He bullies smaller teams like he did today, Soon he is going to be their best player like ten Doeschate but he is like Dutch born and bred rather than being an import like most of their players
