You're on a hiding to nothing here as an opening batsman.
If they have more rain this weekend it's going to be horrible to play cricket on. No doubt in my mind they've deliberately over watered and its worked well for them. Really hoping it doesn't backfire on us.
If they don't drop Welly and play an extra batter they're inviting trouble. Might even be worth dropping Chats for Luke for yet another batter.

Ya I'm not usually a fan of playing extra batters just for the sake of it (that old 8+3 thing we used to bang on about did my head in) but in these conditions absolutely warranted.

Potentially go with this?

1 Marumani
2 Kaia
3 Ervine
4 Williams
5 Raza
6 Burl
7 Madhevere
8 Madande
9 Jongwe
10 Ngarava
11 Blessing

I hear Shumba is about to be added to the squad - that probably means Welch/Ervine/both are out

Ya they’ve doctored these pitches as bad as the Indians do.

Tomorrow's game is making me nervous .it's a potential semi final . I expect both Uganda and us to beat Kenya

The weather forecast I've seen reckons 30% chance of rain on Saturday afternoon and 10% chance on Sunday afternoon. Kenya play Saturday morning and we play Sunday afternoon. It would be a mess if we were tripped up by weather.
I've seen Kenya highlights but not an entire game so can't comment, but Uganda are not to be taken lightly.
Must field first as it's a lot easier to chase in a low scoring game, which is highly likely.

Ya we like a good chase anyway hey. Code for the boys can’t read the pitch and don’t back themselves to set a decent target.

Will be a pure mud bath by Sunday. These crazy Namibian decks.

90% chance it won’t rain then, decent odds to get a game of some sort in.

Finally coming around to my way of thinking at last , Welch for Marumani or Kaiai and I'm happy .
