I missed the whole match but what was with Wellington batting at 6 and Wes at 8? Just looks really bad after losses like that.

Just looked at the U25s scorecard against the very same team  this has nothing to do with ability. Bennet and Munyonga comfortably took Zim home in the second game. Mgcini Dube ripping through the middle order. It's this losers mentality hanging over their heads.

Psychology a huge part of it. The youngsters coming into the team have effectively never seen Zimbabwe been good at cricket in their entire lifetimes.
And the older guys have been through numerous failures.
There is no belief and confidence.

Dave managed to improve that last year but it’s collapsed again. The team look bereft of ideas and confidence. They are beaten before they even take to the field.

Did we expect anything different with same players??

When we only just got past Oman in world cup i feared the worst. Its the same group of players. We do need change. A decent third change pacer would be an obvious start. Gwandu Chaitara and murombo ceiling would be so much higher if they had an opportunity earlier. Chatara is playing on previous reputation only before he had that leg break. He has been awful.
I don’t think anyone understands that this is what ZC has been cooking all along and this is what we should expect. More of this is still to come.
Look at this and tell me where the reinforcements/changes will come from. A chef with rotten food won’t do much, DH is drinking from a poisoned chalice!! Until the squads below change and reflect what we want to achieve then let’s be grateful we even put up a fight against Uganda

I've been sitting in a depressed heap wondering what's next.
Mutendira has to go. Probably placed there as a bit of a conduit for some input from people that know even less about cricket than he does, which is a low bar indeed.

Aren’t we scapegoating mate. The communication we received was both Ervine and Welch had some niggles. Other than that he picked what we had. There really is nothing to pick from, our squad picks itself everything time. With how bad Chats has been unfortunately noone on the domestic scene is better. Ngarava,Muza and Evans is what we have, one gets injured and is out of form we are dead.

Can’t complain about Madande too, only Dane might compete with him on the domestic scene now but ultimately Madande is still ahead of him. Wesley Madhevere was brought down, well we all were crying since last qualifiers how low he has fallen and can’t buy any runs. At least they tried to do something which didn’t work. Anyone better than Wes in the pipeline again answer is NO. Burl can’t buy runs too and should be dropped but for who?
He is probably our best bet after the 3 are gone Raza,Ervine,Sean.

I honestly don’t think selection has been our downfall. The only case is were Ervine and Welch really not fit to play or were we supposed to take a Mavuta or Bennett along. All inconclusive

No one is talking about how poor Raza was with his captaincy. He made Ervine look good.

There are no excuses here. Nor is there any reason to retain the core players now. Total clear out is coming. I like Houghton but he's failed to qualify for 2 world cups. He's done. The board are total deadwood and should all go. But we know they won't. How they've highjacked Zim cricket is a crime. Thieving swine.

Sack the high earners and use their contract money to broaden the cricket base. Train more coaches and develop grassroots cricket. The base is too narrow.

Take the juniors to the next campaign. It can't be worse.

Lastly, select on ability. Not connections, tribe, race, etc.

And that's me out.
Watched enough of this side since though ZCF since 2009, got my hopes up and had them shattered each time. Im honestly tired of putting so much energy into this side only to be let down. Losing to Uganda has highlighted where we are and I'm honestly tired of the stupidity surrounding our selection decisions, as well as tactics. Been a pleasure gents

Few months ago Zimbabwe defeated Holland in WC opening qualifiers game.

Few moths have elapsed, but it seems light years.
This squad is entirely underperforming. It's too simplistic quoting Larry or Dave. Only Blessing stands out. An IPL player such as Sikandar is relentlessly chastised by Ugandan batsmen

So often the question has been how if when Sikandar, Williams, Ervine would retire.... I think we are there: I hardly envisage them to feel motivated to continue their career for national team.

I stated, more than once, that Zimbabwe must allocate part of its funding from ICC to have at least 100 domestic professional players, people who can sensibly dedicate full time to cricket by knowing they have an income. Nobody feels to become rich: an income is sufficient (for many).

Few pennies left to pay minimum salaries? Grassroots is then the only answer: Zimbabwe badly needs thousands and thousands of kids playing tapeball cricket in every town.
Tapeball cricket is basically budgetless: just a cheap bat, no ground infrastructure, no other kit required.

Thousands and thousands of immigrants from subcontinent are playing tapeball cricket in Italy. Can't it be made by Zimbabweans?
When you finally have a broad grassroot base, you may hope to have some stars in real cricket in the future.
Spot on Andrea. I couldn't agree more.
