Naqvi is a huge winner in all of this. Can't see Raza being captain as he loves his T20 gigs too much.TapsC2 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 9:33 amI don't know about the captain. Maybe Raza in all formats. We don't play test cricket anyway.
The biggest winners here I think are Bennett and Naqvi. Im expecting Bennett to go straight into the team. They will work on Naqvi's papers.
Even the likes of Jonathan Campbell and Ben Curran. Step up or step out. Opportunities like this might only come once

Man didn’t see this coming, not everyone getting chopped at least.
Re: ZC Changes
Welch has missed his shot ? Disagree he hasn't been given a proper go at it especially when I see Wes and co get chance after chance . Welch must play and open the batting he will be a 10 year player for the country.zimfan1 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 9:33 amYou are correct, they are not as good but they are not going to develop unless they start batting at 3/4. Ervine is always injured and Williams is in and out. Welch has really missed his shot for now, no way will he be in the Ireland squad.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 9:31 amI disagree.
Truth is none of the youngsters are likely to be as good as, let alone better than, Ervine and Williams.
I can understand the need for a change in coach after two failed qualifiers but it is also relatively unlikely that anyone coming in will do any better than Dave.
Apparently the Williams family are denying that Sean has retired
Re: ZC Changes
Well this is great hey? The absolute nadir. Can only improve from here. All the optimism I had for the Ireland series is gone now all you can do is laugh or cry.

I see Zolsky (Mukuhlani) is dripping poison on social media about ‘Ex Rhodies’ and the like. And putting all blame on Houghton personally.

Will Ervine play the Ireland series?
Yes I. Saw he retired but I don’t see the harm in a final swansong.

Rhodies laughed in the face of sanctions and played in the SA domestic set up and it was like 50 year ago. Blame is closer to home now.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 10:13 amI see Zolsky (Mukuhlani) is dripping poison on social media about ‘Ex Rhodies’ and the like. I don’t know, but didn’t think they’d chop Dave. Players for sure, not him though.
