The biggest winners here I think are Bennett and Naqvi. Im expecting Bennett to go straight into the team. They will work on Naqvi's papers.

I disagree.

Truth is none of the youngsters are likely to be as good as, let alone better than, Ervine and Williams.

I can understand the need for a change in coach after two failed qualifiers but it is also relatively unlikely that anyone coming in will do any better than Dave.

You are correct, they are not as good but they are not going to develop unless they start batting at 3/4. Ervine is always injured and Williams is in and out. Welch has really missed his shot for now, no way will he be in the Ireland squad.

Welch has missed his shot ? Disagree he hasn't been given a proper go at it especially when I see Wes and co get chance after chance . Welch must play and open the batting he will be a 10 year player for the country.

Rhodies laughed in the face of sanctions and played in the SA domestic set up and it was like 50 year ago. Blame is closer to home now.

What else did you expect them to do? Behave as if nothing happened?

I don’t know, but didn’t think they’d chop Dave. Players for sure, not him though.
