Wes needs to open or not play. Bennett is more suited to batting 7/8 and bowling a few overs than Wes.

No idea where Ervine bats if Raza opens the batting, I would move on from him in the T20s to be honest. Worth giving Marumani another go but I am not convinced. I would like to see Madande bat higher up, perhaps even open with Raza.

You don’t trust Munyonga but you are happy Bennett is in? Even though the former has outplayed the latter in recent times?

They are both really good fair selections.

There’s some weird biases and agendas on here sometimes
I think that kind of thinking comes from the fact that Bennett is young and we haven't seen him at international level yet, so there is a greater hope. Munyonga on the other hand has failed at international stage earlier and has looked ordinary... Unless he has turned it around significantly, it is hard to get excited about him.

Random squad yo, can’t expect too many changes with it being such a quick turnaround I guess. Raz dawg should persist opening.

Welch won’t be much of a loss to be fair. Maybe wise he chose a career in middleweight boxing.

Anyone know broadcast deets yet?

The most popular players on ZCF are always the unproven youngsters or the guys returning from overseas. Welcome to Bennett-mania!

Gwandu selection was a long time coming. Chatara has been living off his previous reputation for far too long.

Only 25 too. He could play for ZC for years as well as other prospects such as Dube and Chataira.

When ngarava and blessing finished their spells it did my nut in watching the Uganda batters walking down the pitch and spanking him. ZC please let him go into coaching. He has served his country well. Time for a new journey.

So much for the shit storm of ‘sackings, retirements etc’ expected/ reported following the Africa t20 failure. Houghton still coach and the old guard of Raz, Ervine & Willy still selected.

I think they’ve made the right decisions with the squad, although I feel Kaia is a little unlucky and Ervine a bit lucky. Keen to see how Gwandu goes, and also Mavuta of course.

Looking at the balance of the squad, I think Raza will definitely open, otherwise they’ll have too many middle order players. Unless of course Wes is thrown back up the order. Tbh, I think DH hasn’t done Wes any favours. He’s moved him all over the place, up and down the order, surely they would t help a young player struggling for form.

What has Welch ‘allegedly’ done?

Will never be able to pick the strongest squad in the country anyway because of the quota system. Mediocre results are the only certainty with this kind of method .
