Yikes, he has made it to the front page of the BBC. His profile has gone through the roof.

With the way things are going we are going to owe Solomon Mire a lot

Scoring 300 is an incredible achievement. That bowling lineup wasn’t the worst we have ever seen I think the pitch was flat. Maposa got both Welch brothers yesterday. He is ok
I think it was the worst XI, on paper, that I’ve ever seen Tuskers field.

It will be amusing to see some people’s faces when he abandons us.

Why would he be the ‘next Raza’, other than being brown? Completely different stories and he probably is not as good as Raza, let’s be honest.
Looks like he himself is comparing himself to Raza according to that article.

Also, both being pilots (i didnt know this until 22 mins ago) is a big coincidence too.

This is actually how I see it going. I’m not convinced we are his final option yet.

Well i wouldn't blame him if he did, hoping for the sake of Zim cricket he sticks around and has a long career.

Well you don't know how he'll go in international cricket, that's the truth of it. Won't know until he gets a shot.
It's a huge step up from domestic and you just never know. Plus it's anyone's guess how long these selectors would persevere with him if he got off to a poor start.

Very true , it's really a free hit though isn't it . Nothing to lose if it doesn't work out so be it. I am relieved that Bennett did well at 3 because a couple of failures would have seen him banished for quite some time.

That's not off the table. He'll have to keep delivering. He's on a short rope, that I'll guarantee.
He did well, but he did get some free hits.
The tough part comes when you become enough of a nuisance as a batsman that they spend time working out your weaknesses. You can have your favored areas but you need a complete game, they're not going to bowl it where you like it.

It’s always good to get context in this game.
Someone gets a big score? Who were they batting against.
Someone fails? Did they get out to rubbish?
‘He should be selected because he averages 34 at ODIs’ but we’re they all against Ireland and the UAE?

I know we try but I think we get blinded at times, when we pump up big wins and performances without considering the opposition.

It’s why as much as I rate Raza highly by Zim standard, I don’t consider him world class like others here. He is very inconsistent against quality bowling.
