I know that teams can gain points from wins but can teams have points taken away from losing to much lesser nations? I don't really understand calculations.
However Nigeria have early done zim a favour.

Yep. This is the closest I have ever seen to an actual youth second string A team (without them throwing in Chibhabha, Maruma, Richmond Mutambami and some established national like Ryan Burl etc) and this is the future and it’s depressing.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 11:55 amYou know it's bad when all your fans think you need to pick 9 batsmen to beat Tanzania and Nigeria. How depressing.
We simply rise or fall ti the level of our opposition. This was the most basic bowling today.

There are 2 adjacent grounds.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 12:04 pmDoes anyone know if there are multiple grounds, was this the same ground as yesterday or different? The deck yesterday looked great for batting. Today looked a lot more spin friendly.
So far Zim and SA have played both their matches at the A ground, while the other 4 matches took place at the B ground. For the 3rd group game, Zim and SA will both once again play at the A ground.
All the playoff matches including 3rd place are at the A ground

Weakened squads really coming back to bite both Namibia and SA. Let's hope we don't also end up regretting it.
I think it's a bit of a shame tbh. Sure, I'm not expecting the full Proteas but they could and really should have sent a proper 'A' squad. It's hugely disrespectful of them and I think this sort of tournament if done properly and taken seriously by teams could be really really good for African cricket.
At least our weakened squad does include some of our brighter prospects and some guys with international caps.

Great win for Kenya. I watched that Patel on debut the wristy, he was turning it both ways!! They have a seriously good spin attack with Vraj and Ngoche as well. It’s a shame they can’t bat otherwise Kenya would actually be a decent side.

Agreed. RSA losing to Kenya is a massive upset and it serves them right for sending such a weak squad. They could have sent a proper 'A' squad which was just fine. If you disrespect the game the game comes back to bite you!secretzimbo wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 4:01 pmWeakened squads really coming back to bite both Namibia and SA. SA 70 all out.
Let's see if their fans are as hostile as Zim fans
