It still helps Zimbabwe slightly because of Namibia's loss against Nigeria which was an international.

As of now Zimbabwe sneak ahead of Namibia into 12th Rank.
Taking a look at the potential rankings after May 1, it’s extremely close. My question is what happens if we somehow manage to win the series in Bangladesh, maybe 3-2 for example. At the same time Namibia, the Netherlands, Scotland and Ireland don’t do so well at the World Cup. They don’t progress to the super 8s. That creates a possibility where both Namibia and Zimbabwe can be in the top 12. Does Africa then get 5 spots in 2026?

We might not even have to win the series because of the gap between us and Bangladesh in the rankings. 2 wins might be enough. The key game from what I can see might actually be Namibia versus Scotland at the World Cup if we do ok next month. I would be extremely disappointed if Bangladesh beat us 5-0 but with these guys you never know.
Yeah Taps it will be close. A lot also depends on Namibia v Oman series where we need to hope Oman cause a couple of upsets. That'll be a severe blow to Namibia. Then Netherlands, Scotland and Ireland play a tri series, what happens in that series will also be important.

Are all these games before the WC? Ie preparation games for the WC?

Pakistan just announced they are touring Ireland for 3 T20Is in May. So another series that will impact the final rankings.

Ireland Netherlands Scotland also having a tri series.

Those three teams beating each other up can only be good for Zimbabwe finishing in the top 12.

Namibia just lost to Oman. Series tied 1-1 apiece. Even if they win the series 4-1 they will likely fall/stay behind Zimbabwe for now.

I'm quite certain Oman will pull off at least another win over Namibia. We all saw during the WCQs that Oman are no pushovers, they are a decent associate team and at home they can beat the likes of Namibia.

Zimbabwe - Bangladesh series will be huge for Zimbabwe in terms of securing direct WCQ.

As of now, after the good show at African Games, Zimbabwe should stay confident and positive, just keep focussing on the results and do not worry about the rankings. As MSD used to say, focus on the process and all the other things will take care of themselves.

Looks like they will take lead today, they chasing 100 right now and they started well. I dont want to jinx it but i have always rated Oman!

The average age of that Oman side is 33  2 players over 41 and the youngest player is 27.

They are certainly at their peak and don’t really have many young players coming through so they will start to struggle in a couple of years.
