Ireland are cancelling theri series vs Australia outright due to lack of cricket grounds and pitches. Two thoughts here:
1) Zimbabwe should consider themselves fortunat they are getting a Test match fixture when the Aussie series is scrapped alltogether.
2) Pretty shambolic that a Test playing nation doesn't have at least one full time ground at home.

It’s also setting us up because we are supposed to host Ireland in January. 2 tests are scheduled for that tour. That’s a million dollars if we use this figure of 500k for a test match that’s always going around. In fact the Irish guys once suggested it costs over a million for them to host and that’s why they avoid it
Afghanistan should be coming just before them and they might expect us to fulfill the full schedule which has 2 tests. South Africa and New Zealand are coming next year for 2 tests each as well and I’m sure those matches will be played because you can’t miss the opportunity to play a big side. So ZC will probably have a huge test cricket bill next year. I see a minimum of 1 test against both Afghanistan and Ireland plus the 4 tests in total against South Africa and New Zealand. That could cost them 3 million.
The India tour should bring in some decent money so maybe they will use that to cover their costs

Disgusting how teams are having to cancel tours because of lack of money and the ICC doesn't do a thing about it.

Zimbabwe ‘A’ playing two one dayers against Jersey national team in Yorkshire on 1st and 2nd of August
Only other confirmed fixture I know of is a match against Kent 2nd XI at Beckenham on 17th July.
Not sure if anything else is confirmed yet for this A/U25 tour.

There really should be a strict test home and away schedule.
Some allowances and tweaks, such as ashes etc at the expense of a 2nd tester against Zim or Ireland.
But this prizefight exhibitionism doesn’t make sense.

Re: 2023-2031 FTP news, updates, etc
This is good. The Rising Stars programme had a lot of talent and I think 9 or 10 of them played at least one game for Zim. I hope it’s more of an ‘A’ squad than an emerging squad. Guys around the national team already like Gumbie, Evans, Welch Sr, Bennet, Myers and Campbell can use those matches to improve.
Re: 2023-2031 FTP news, updates, etc
It should be a proper ‘A’ side with guns like Roy Kaia keeping things steady. An emerging side would get pumped.

At least that's something good for the players.
