Zimbabwean in the UK (Summer 2024)
Re: Zimbabwean in the UK (Summer 2024)
I know he did not pull up trees here over the winter but Dane S seems to be far down the pecking order at Notts at the moment with Joe Clarke now keeping. Wonder would he come home?

Nkosana Mpofu to Tynedale CC (North East Premier League)
Re: Zimbabwean in the UK (Summer 2024)
Dane is better off staying there and playing County 2’s for now. Will help him improve a lot more than here and I don’t think he will crack the national team yet. He is only 21. He should give himself time
Re: Zimbabwean in the UK (Summer 2024)
Is county twos really adequate preparation?
I haven’t seen any evidence county twos makes a player much better.
I guess it adds character though.

Newman Nyamhuri not doing to bad so far. Top score of 54 and 11 wickets (17 ave).
Re: Zimbabwean in the UK (Summer 2024)
County Two's is tough cricket. One of the big issues is they don't use the first team ground, it's generally a tricky deck. It's not easy. It's obviously not the same intensity as first team, but you're nearly always up against a couple of first team bowlers on an iffy pitch.

Oh yeah it’s tough alright. Set you up with skills for life.
