And yes I agree wholeheartedly it's a disaster that we didn't qualify.

My point is, equally if you did suddenly transplant us into this tournament right now, it's absolutely feasible we could pull off a victory over that shambolic Pakistan side still and probably half the other teams in the tournament on our day.

We have a huge mount of problems, and yes it' embarrassing not to qualify, and yes I have little hope for the future. But there jut isn't a big gap between any of the teams. We aren't a million miles off if we sort out some basic things and get back on the right track.
Totally; t20 levels the playing field somewhat and it really can be anyone’s game. All it takes is a couple of guys to get their eye in playing the match of their lives and that’s 180 on the board whoever they’re playing for.

You can’t be measuring a gap between the top table, us and the associates in t20 because it’s unpredictable. A fairer assessment would be the 50 over game.

One perplexing thing is that Associates have the best chance of success in T20, yet it is Zimbabwe's worst format. We have almost nobody who can take on the bowlers and play aggressively.
You can't be surprised when players like Gumbie get selected to play t20 cricket. Whilst he is a good batsman he simply isn't suited to that format like many others that get picked. It took them over 12 months to finally give Campbell an opportunity, they are clueless.
Campbell mentioned of course

Very little to do with selection, and once again everything to do with the people running our game.

Cricket here is ran by dinosaurs in their 50's and 60's who are stuck in the past and know the square root of fuck all about the game, and are only now, very slowly starting to see the benefits of T20/T10 etc. We are years behind other countries in focusing on shorter formats.

We still play 5 days of domestic T20 cricket per year.

5 days. Let that sink in.

We have a T20 series with India in a few weeks and our guys in national camp are literally currently playing multi-day red-ball training matches in Harare to prepare for it. Inexplicable insanity.
Very little to do with selection ? Thats an astonoshing comment 🤣🤣🤣

Ahh, I see you are one of Mukuhlani's PR ghouls. A board-apologist. Nice.

Either that or just incredibly dim and knows zero about the game in this country.

Dodgiest ball tracker I’ve ever seen  that was totally going down leg.

Rizwan stepped on the gas now, striking at 75.
