Bennett opening with...Marumani?

I don't really know who on Earth opens. Our middle order is stacked. Not really space for all three of Campbell and Naqvi and Burl all in the same XI either.

For me I'd force Naqvi to open tbh. That's the vacant position.

And Bennett, and Naqvi, and Raza? And people will want Myers in there too. And we need a wicket keeper.

We can't have ALL of these guys ALL batting in the middle order. At least one, possibly two have to sit out unless they open. They will probably have Bennett open but I think he will be potentially wasted there slightly.

We desperately need openers, or try out some of these middle order guys at the top of the order and see how they go. I honestly think in T20 it is worth seeing how either or both of Burll and Naqvi do at the top. Nothing to lose in this series - everyone thinks we are going to get battered anyway so might as well try.

Salmon will probably bring a fresh perspective, although as he's only arriving in the country today (and who knows if he has been aa close follower of Zim cricket in the past?) he won't have much time for this series. I'm sure it will be Mr. DM doing the selecting as usual anyway.

Opening against India on a Harare pitch.....I'm leaning more towards trying out Naqvi and Burl. The guy with something to prove and a guy with 120 international caps.

I highly rate Marumani & Bennett but one has struggled against everyone and the other is extremely young and still inexperienced...I'd rather protect those two in the middle order and have the older guys front up.

Plus it's just worth trying something different sometimes.

Veterans Craig Ervine and Sean Williams were not considered for selection, while Ryan Burl, Joylord Gumbie and Ainsley Ndlovu failed to make the cut.
