Chatara, despite everything, is still probably at a similar level to Nyauchi. Not much between them. Chivanga just doesn't have the control for T20.

I don't mind Innocent being in. I really rate him, albeit for the longer formats mainly.

Mufudza wasn't even in the Regional trial squads! The selectors hate him, have for years. It was always going to be Mavuta or Muzondo. Mufudza is 5th in the pecking order behind Wellington, Mavuta, Muzondo and Ndlovu. That is pretty crazy. You know it's bad when you find yourself behind even an ndebele from Bulawayo.

Burl being dropped yes is madness. I have more of a problem with Wes being in the squad than Milton at the moment.

Tbh Burl's omission is unbelievable.

Chatara - he can definitly claim his spot because he played decently after his exclusion from national squad.

Faraz - only reason he is there because of evans injury.

Marumani - Backup keeper and unsurprisingly he bossing the domestic arena.

Can you please point out the reason you felt ZC is racist. I can't digest how can anyone randomly say board is recist when a white player omitted but they are blind when black player not even considered for regional squad !

The determination to persist with some players is thoroughly alarming because these mystery selectors are in situ until the lights are turned off in 2027. Even a broken clock is right twice a day, which is still a better strike rate
One of the issues is they hide behind the fact that they think they're rebuilding and it's not an important game or series.
Theyre all important. They're usually an embarrassment, and they keep doing it without consequences for themselves.

I was expecting Burl to be dropped and not necessarily because he deserved it. Whilst he hasn't done a lot for a while I still think he's our best lower order finisher and he can bowl, plus has never really had a go at the top of the order. He's one of 3 guys getting T20 gigs but doesn't make our national side? He needs to spend time becoming more consistent as a bowler and they wouldn't be able to drop him.

If Wes stays out of trouble they will revisit him ad nauseum. He's proof that Mangongo is in favor, he's been reformed and made a better player by Steve. Let's see... ditto Mavuta.
I think Mangongo had a big say in this selection.
He's not a big hitter so one would assume he's 1-3 in the batting line up.
Milton has so far been a run a ball guy so logically he's also 1-3. He can play, just not sure about the run a ball thing.
Bennett has had a couple good innings as an opener so I'm sure he will bat there.

The selectors don't mind the run a ball guys because it makes the defeats a little closer and more palatable. I'm not saying Brian is a run a ball guy. I think he could bat anywhere really. He hasn't had a run of failures yet. That will happen because its cricket. We will see how much rope they give him then.

We've seen a lot of Inno. He's a good player, but hasn't done too much internationally. He will always be thereabouts. If wishes were horses...

Chats was abject last few times in Zim colours but there's no denying he's good when playing well. He's bossed it domestically. If you're going to pick Faraz you're surely going to pick Larry. He looks fit and strong as well.
Again Faraz is not bad. Can definitely hold a bat, if he gets it to swing he's useful. It's not every day you face 110kph swing bowling.
Chivanga is our quickest bowler. I'm a bit surprised he's not there.

Was it Williams or Ervine that retired from T20?
If Craig wasn't selected I'm a bit surprised, but he's a run a ball until he gets to about 25. He's a very slow starter as a rule.

I know I've gotten it exactly wrong of late and when I think a bit of justice would be served by a poor outing the opposite happens, but I don't like Knackers being parachuted in.
Will a helicopter actually deliver him directly into the stadium? Will there be drummers and dancing girls?
Will he get handed his passport or his cap first?
Will 5 shit games mean he fucks off forever or will he get 20 games in a row to get it right? The fetid odour of corruption and favoritism right there. It hangs over a few players.

I know I get gunned for this, but Clive gets way too many free passes. I don't think he's as good as everyone else does. You need more than a fast hand swipe over cow.
I'd always persevere with Marumani as keeper and find someone else to replace Clive. This post guarantees he makes runs. I'm having a bad time of my predictions of late
