Poor squad. Burl out is ridiculous.

Chatara 😂😂😂 may be they want him to get thrashed so much by India that they can finally dismiss him forever.

Faraz Akram again 😂😂😂 complete joke

Marumani again...he will probably end up with 100 matches at an avg of 5!! 😂😂😂

Shumba, I'm not sure if he has done anything of note to merit a place.

... And then everyone wants us to believe that ZC is not racist?
Tbh Burl's omission is unbelievable.

Chatara - he can definitly claim his spot because he played decently after his exclusion from national squad.

Faraz - only reason he is there because of evans injury.

Marumani - Backup keeper and unsurprisingly he bossing the domestic arena.

Can you please point out the reason you felt ZC is racist. I can't digest how can anyone randomly say board is recist when a white player omitted but they are blind when black player not even considered for regional squad !
Lol, then don't digest but they've been racist for 20 years now! Burl's omission itself is an example when perennial failures like Marumani and Shumba are selected over him.

Welch getting dropped after a few failures, Evans always got dropped after one or two failures, Jonathan Campbell got his chance after so long and I won't be surprised if he gets dropped on having a poor series here.

I don't even want to go into the past more so because I don't argue with fools, so stay in your fantasy world.

I think you picked some poor examples there:

Campbell has been average for years (still is in my eyes) had a good season then got his chance

Welch was given a chance when he shouldn’t have, failed and was rightly dropped to work his way up, and has currently struggled to get going in Zimbabwe

Burl has been getting away with it for a long time because of his name, just look at his stats. He hasn’t performed in pressure situations and it is a good idea for him to be dropped so he can pick his game up.

Evans barely got his chance as he wasn’t the best 3rd seamer at the time, he is also the worst fielder in the squad. He has improved loads and would probably be in this squad now if he wasn’t injured.

One argument you mention which is right is that Shumba and Marumani have been given too many chances to perform so I’d agree that I would pick others instead, but none of the guys mentioned above. Then again who are the ‘others’ to come in….

Race has got nothing to do with the squad selection.

Well unless there were other factors and I'm sure I'll find out, it's questionable why Chatara was allowed to bolster the Mutare side today but the Rangers players couldn't join their team?
If Rangers challenge for the league title, which doesn't look likely now I think you'd see further shenanigans.
They want good players of any hue, just not too many of them. It's been a long struggle to fuck things up and they don't want anyone undoing all the hard work.

Okay may be I made a mistake. ZC is a very fair organization that treats everyone equally irrespective of their colour, which is how it should be.

My apologies.

The last line you're saying you don't want to go into the past but your replay start with past things :)
Welch dropped because he not getting any runs in the franchise level even in the club. Good thing is he finally coming back to what he was.

Evans injured, and you not mentioned about kaia he also dropped many times :!:

Burl omission is some sort of surprise but he is played more than 100 matches and not really justified his seat. There is no doubt about his talent but need a kick to enhance it. Every time he got free pass really want to make him more hunger.
Marumani is backup keeper and i also hope zc use him in the lower order wherehe doing good with rangers.
Still you only cared about white player i don't know why that, mufudza playing really well and selectors don't even calling him to regional matches. If you're too care about betterment of ZC point them too.
It's not about racism it's purely favouritism.

Finally am just posted my opinion in ZC forum where healthy discussion happening. Everyone have the right to agree or disagree so calm brother ;) come out of the usual twitter racism comments

Is this the first Zim squad ever selected that has more Asian players than white players, out of interest?

As others have pointed out, they make shit selection both black and white. E.g. Mufudza - who they picked five years too late despite being the best spinner in the country and have now completely discarded after 3 games. Innocent, despite being a Takashinga lad, has bene in and out of the team and never had a consistent run without fearing for his place. On the other hand Bennett has so far had every opportunity, very quickly, at every level. But in contrast other white players, I'm thinking Matthew Welch, have not.

They treat some white players great and some very poorly, and they treat some black players great and others very poorly. There is no rhyme or reason, it's bizarre.

It's more about internal politics and favouritism I think.

The Burl omission for me is a genuinely dreadful selection - there's no way Madhevere is currently more deserving. But again, is it because he's black and Burl is white, or is it more because Madhevere is just the golden boy and as pointed out is Mangongo's Number 1 project, whereas Burl doesn't have such connections and people pushing for him?

Truth is none of us ever truly know. ZC works in mysterious ways. Probably sometimes racist ways, but more often just very incompetent, very corrupt ways. And that's probably more significant.

Ya, if you’re black, brown or white and they don’t like you then you’ll get messed around. That’s not racism.

Burl needed chopping to force him to up his game. We all said Johnno was basically competing for a place with him and here we have it. It’s not overly surprising. Can throw Naqvi in the mix too now I guess as even further competition. Old ponzo’s problem is he’s a senior guy now and given he seems to bowl very little, then he should be looking to bat up the order.

Larry is the shock pick after those Uganda shenanigans, he looked done internationally. He deserves this though. He’s a wily old character and can pull something out the bag at times.

You can look at it in outrage certain guys have been chopped or look at it as we have a load of guys, none of whom are streets ahead of anyone else and we’ve actually got a bit of depth to the squad and some more in the locker. It’s India anyway, even with the best XI we have, we’d win one game if Raza threw a inshallah into his interview with 3-mob and literally everything went our way, that’s it.
