Supposed to be Emerging I guess, not that that makes a difference here.
Evans recovering from another injury- a torn pectoral apparently. UFC fighters hold up better than Brad.
Chivanga and Nyauchi should be playing IMO
We've seen enough of Falao. You get one chance to impress and you bowl 7th stump and short? Be ready with fire in your belly!
They're using these games to look at potential squad players now, not future ones, stick in Chivanga and Nyauchi. They're desperate to replace Burl as well.
He will come back strong, watch. Just what he needed. I see he's lost a pile of weight. Always a good sign. These Emerging type games we need to win, we cant keep saying we're building, been doing that for 25 years. I'd be flying Burl down there to replace Musekiwa.
This Tristan Luus can more than hold a bat. They're a decent side, I underestimated them a bit.

Macheka has more potential than Falao. Not sure why they wouldn't give him another game?
Maybe the next one? Maybe there's some rotation?
I can't believe Falao's performance today. I've always punted for him, i took that personally . Macheka also bowled rubbish the other game but he's got more zip.
Faraz bowled terribly as well, but batted well at least. At 120 land every ball, no excuses!
If you've got Faraz opening your fast bowling options are zero. He's been picked to shore it up in case it gets embarrassing.
If you're going to open with Faraz whom we know then you should be opening with Chivanga whom we also know!!
Mavuta was innocuous, improved towards the end when the game was all but gone.
Same with Mavuta, we're not going to see anything new from him, give Chesa a run.
Frosty was ok with ball. More a batting all-rounder.
Knackers was solid with the ball, has a bit of a golden arm. Can't buy that.
That should have been much much closer. Once again lost in the opening spell.

Better performance from Zimbabwe. Well better in tye batting department anyway.
Bowling needs an overhaul. Chivanga is still not a locked in member of test side with ngarava muzarabani chatara and nyauchi about. So would have made sense to include him

Chivanga should be a locked-in member of the Test side after that performance a couple of weeks ago.
On the contrary he's actually a very average white ball bowler. I might be being generous with 'average' as well there.

Yea I don’t think Chivanga is made for the shorter formats. There is something to work with in red ball cricket however, especially if all those tests happen. That test also showed me that maybe they can work with Macheka. When someone that fast is having a decent day they can cause all sorts of problems. They just need to be up against batsmen not looking to attack every delivery.
Naqvi’s stock is rising. Clearly the best player in this side

I'd imagine it would be pretty depressing for the batsman knowing that the bowlers aren't going to get the job done. It's a massive issue that needs fixing asap.

I'd like to know what happened to Matigimu. Rocked up for Takashinga for one game and then disappeared. Only bowled 3 overs so maybe an injury?
Hope he wasn't just being a tourist. We need him in side

Ya I don't know. He's a decent player as well.
I'm hoping he's not thinking he will necessarily get red carpet treatment. He needs to do the grind.
There's a few spots that aren't locked down, one of them is the seaming all-rounder. It inevitably goes to Jongwe and of late Faraz is in the mix, but there are a few options. This is obviously not a complete list.
Bawa used to bowl really good seam at school. started bowling off a shorter run up and then stopped bowling. Dunno why he can't revisit this unless he's got a bad back.
Matigimu is more a bowling all-rounder but can bat.
Evans on paper looks a good choice, but is injury prone.
Jongwe has a golden arm off very mediocre bowling and can bat. Dibbly dobbly stuff and change ups that come off occasionally.
Frost- he's shown he can bat, dunno if he can hit, and his bowling is OK.
Myers can absolutely vie for this spot. Opens up an all important batting slot. My point being if he improves his bowling he ticks a vital all-rounder spot.
Faraz needs the ball to swing and needs to be having a good day with the ball. He's done well with the bat of late, but he's not as good as Evans, Myers, Matigimu or Bawa (if Bawa can still bowl- grey area)
We look like we're thin on seaming all-rounders but we probably aren't. Nobody fantastic yet, but we have options.
Spinning all-rounders we are neck deep in them.
Obviously the best of them is Raza, but we have -
Burl, hasn't done much of late but I think he will come back well.
Bennett- hasn't had much time with the ball and is now a bit short of runs, but he's a good prospect.
Campbell- one good tour and one disastrous one. Is a good bowler but hasn't been given the ball. Haven't seen enuf of him with the bat either.
Williams- has gone off the boil with the ball. Great batter.
Mavuta- more a spinner but can bat a bit. Needs to be more attacking with the ball.
Wellie- good solid mostly dependable player.
Naqvi- makes it on batting alone and looks a decent offie. Clearly a bit of a golden arm.
Raza and Naqvi make it on their batting alone.
It's getting more competitive and some better selections will free up at least 2 more batting spots.
