Typical Zim reporting. No facts whatsoever.
Per number of cricketers we have the highest percentage of guys (and possibly women, don't know much about them) who have issues, usually stemming from drug and alcohol abuse and virtually all stemming from being underpaid or not paid at all by ZC. A captive market of players wanting to lead vaguely normal lives, raise kids, buy a house and most can't put food on the rented table shared by others.
Maybe one or two have done some obscure stuff by getting paid a couple of grand after being used to nothing, but they're in the minority I'd imagine.

I wonder if ZC will help out with legal representation?
Shame for all involved, hate seeing this.

CRICKETER ARRESTED …faces attempted murder charge
September 16, 2024
Arron Nyamayaro

A cricket player was yesterday arrested for stabbing his wife in Kwekwe.
Tarisai Musakanda (29) had a misunderstanding with his wife Tinodiwanashe Makunike, popularly known as Mai Dewei.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest saying Tarisai Musakanda is facing attempted murder charges.
Musakanda has played five Tests, 16 ODIs and 12 T20Is for Zimbabwe while he last played international cricket nearly two years ago.
It is alleged that Mai Dewei had engaged two men to erect a shelter for her vending site.
The two visited Mai Dewei to collect their money before they clashed with Musakanda.
It is alleged that Musakanda used a kitchen knife to stab Mai Dewei and she sustained injuries on her two hands and her back.
One of their neighbours told H-Metro that the incident took place at around 3 am yesterday.
“We were awakened by their noise, Mai Dewei shouting for help and we rushed there. Upon arriving, Musakanda was holding a knife and his wife trying to block and she got injured.
“When we restrained them, Mai Dewei had been stabbed on her back and we rushed her to the hospital.
“Musakanda was arrested and is detained at Kwekwe Central Police Station.
“The two have been at each other’s throat several times and Musakanda once beat her up with a bet stick,” said the neighbour.
In 2022, Musakanda was charged with culpable homicide, and later cleared for causing the death of former tennis player Gwinyai Chingoka.

1. Is she famous? Why is she popularly known as Mai Dewei?
2. The builders went to collect payment...at 3am... and Tari is so furious he stabs his wife.

I think I know what this payment was....a spit roast.

I cannot but wish him all best.
He is still only 29, anyone makes mistakes in life. He seems on the right way now.
I hope, above all, his happiness as a man, maybe also as a cricketer too.
dude lol.

He’s been hitting that pampers juice hard.

Mistakes is taking a 15k payment from Mr X to fix games, not mowing a guy down in your car or stabbing your wife.

Lanzoni is chatting like the fella is out the game with a broken arm and wishing him a speedy recovery

What I wrote was after the post of Zimfan1.
Then there is the incident reported two days ago.
I'm not a frequent reader of news in Zimbabwe: my post was directed to a person who had made mistakes and (apparently) tried to overcome them.
I can't vouch for his daily life or his whereabouts.

It just means 'mother of dewei' and is a common way to refer to someone instead of using their name. Often people don't know someone's name if a mai .... name is all they're known by. She doesn't have to be famous. It's probably a bit stronger than 'aka'.

Community service after bashing his wife with a bar, and then later stabbing her. :? I hope his wife has the common sense to leave.

Sad loss that his child died.
