We've established that AI chooses a better team than our selectors, let's have a shot at a parrot.
And actually has balls to give the reasoning

Solid reasoning and clearly rates Wellington and Ponzo picking them twice.

Obviously we understand that Matt Welch is injured but if he pops up like a gallery duck for mountaineers on Sunday then some serious questions need to be asked regarding his non inclusion for Pakistan matches.

Musekiwa has an ankle injury.

But makes the squad above a fully healthy all rounder in Campbell and in form K-long

I'm not sure there's an upside to facing Harris Rauf on debut  , or any of those Pakistani quicks.

This will be a stern test for the new and old Zim batters.
What Mutendira should have done is throw in all the whites, watch them get skittled and then there would be no noise from the armchair critics and he could have had at least a year of peace and quiet whilst he continued to plot Zim cricket's inexorable slide into oblivion. He missed a trick.

Speaking of the Pakistani bowlers, some guy on that thing last night said they were brought in last domestic season after Sole ripped through everyone at the 50 over qualifier. Makes sense, I’d never put two and two together and figured that out though. I’d just thought it was some qalanders deal because they were in the Zim Afro t10 and helping some brothers out

I wouldn’t fancy any of them on debut, or any time really  Some of the most fearsome bowlers out there on their day, then when they start getting it reversing and stuff like Pakistanis seem to be suspiciously good at.

If we go by the FTP then Zimbabwe have good amount of games from here on. I'll be happy if they try out various players than stick with the same old ones. Pakistan series might be tough and even though Afghanistan have improved a lot, I think Zimbabwe should still target series wins over them and then early next year against Ireland.

What is important here is to build teams for 2026 T20 WC and 2027 ODI WC and that is possible only if some new players are tried out.
Series win against Afghanistan? ZIM have never won a series against them in any format in over 10 years of the rivalry. Afghanistan have just finished in the top 5 in two consecutive world cups now and have also got back to back series wins vs Bangladesh in ODIs. There's a better chance of winning the series vs Pakistan (who always lose a match per series to Zimbabwe) than there is of sneaking past Afghanistan in a match.

Evans- not really up to speed with his injuries. Don't know if that's what kept him out of the regionals. Don't think so. Our most economical seamer, flatters to deceive with the bat, but wonderfully talented.
I think he's centrally contracted and I don't think Faraz is? That tells a story in itself. He's been out a long time and clearly doing penance, but nobody is happy that Faraz is ahead of him and Luke.
Penance for being injured. only in Zim. It’s ludicrous
