Zimbabwe will be playing the most number of tests in a very long time and the women team just got onto the FTP program as well. Things looking up indeed for the small african nation. Like half the team is under 25 and a bunch of young players coming up as well.
CHRISTOPHER MPOFU: 'The problem was fear of failure. I used to think that when I played, if I didn't do well in one game, I would lose my place for the next one but now I've let go of that'

When does Bawa finish Uni? He would be the one to fast track as I imagine they will. May be curtains for madhevere then.

I'm not sure there's an upside to facing Harris Rauf on debut  , or any of those Pakistani quicks.

This will be a stern test for the new and old Zim batters.
What Mutendira should have done is throw in all the whites, watch them get skittled and then there would be no noise from the armchair critics and he could have had at least a year of peace and quiet whilst he continued to plot Zim cricket's inexorable slide into oblivion. He missed a trick.
I guess that is the "glass half full" view the guys who weren't picked can take. Let guys struggle badly against the top teams, bang some runs domestically with no pressure from the national team guys then hopefully get a chance against Ireland.

I always point out that Kaitano's stats don't do him justice because most of his international games have been difficult. 5 games against Sri Lanka away. 2 against India. 1 against Australia away, 2 against Bangladesh and only 1 even match which was against Ireland.

In a system that the selectors want to can specific people, you want to start off against the Rwanda's. Welch struggling against that kind of opposition is a solid excuse for them to keep him out if I'm being honest

Googly you missed Masuku
Ya sorry.
And Chatara. Let me tell you Chatara doesn't want to be done yet and a good spell from Larry is world class, despite his lack of pace.

Obviously we understand that Matt Welch is injured but if he pops up like a gallery duck for mountaineers on Sunday then some serious questions need to be asked regarding his non inclusion for Pakistan matches.
Played in a Mountaineers practice match yesterday. (Chatara 2-5 in 7 overs)

He should have been on the Pakistan squad then.

Tbf, he's barely played any 50 over or T20 cricket. Would have a stronger case in red ball, and may have stronger case across the board come the Afghanistan/Ireland series.
