To fair, not sure Schadendorf would get in a four day side.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 8:43 amWelch stripped of the captaincy.

Is it a clue that Welch may be pulled half way through to join the national side?

Another 50 for Curran. Insane form.

Currently sits on 64. Would be so great to see a Curran in a Zimbabwe Jersey again.
I watched curran score 83 for Northants a few years ago and what struck me the most was the amount of time he had. Always a sign of a good batter. I really hope he is given an opportunity soon

You'd have thought that there is a free spot at the top of the order in the Test side.sloandog wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 10:52 amCurrently sits on 64. Would be so great to see a Curran in a Zimbabwe Jersey again.

Gumbie and Masvaure both played well in Ireland, but Masvaure seems certain not to be fit. Some runs for Gumbie today probably means he will retain his spot, but there is one spot free, and at the moment Curran would seem to be the clear choice.

Curran and nick welch should at least be in a conversation for national selection.
It's so frustrating to watch the scores on cricinfo though. It feels like every time welch fails or doesn't score a half century, his giving Mutendera ammunition to not select him. Incredibly wrong, I know, but the Campbells, the Welch sisters and Curran are going to have a much MUCH shorter rope than Madhevere or Clive Mudande.
I think the treatment of Johno Campbell after the Bangladesh series was a great embodiment of that.
Brian Bennett is making himself undropable at the moment but, again, a string of bad results and you feel he's out of the frame
