Knackers will fill that role once he’s qualified.

If he gets a 100 today, Ali Hamid won't be far off the Test squad conversation. Excellent player in this format. Really improved against spin too, that was his issue.
He had a terrible season in the UK, like really bad. Showed his limits as a player.
Oh! I wasn't aware
Averaged 29 with the bat with 2 fifties a one century in the 18 league games he played. The century was 113 not out so helped his average a bit.

Young Taruvinga in the the runs again, on FC debut this time. Has shaped up ok. Still only 18. Kept wicket as well, rather than Chiradza, Mutumbami or Tsiga (who wasn't even selected).

This will make me unpopular at the moment... but it is only fair to point out that Ben Curran did little better...

Hence Matt Welch being stopped from keeping. Taruvinga is his like for like, except Taruvinga being kept down the order to make it easier for him. There's a lot of poor stuff going on here.

He opened in the one dayer. Not convinced that 8 is a better place to bat than up top.

Top 3 and keeping in 4-day cricket is tough. Gumbie not doing it either.

I might not be up to date but wasn’t Curran formerly county?

Regardless, to be in the national frame niggas need to be dominating the UK club scene. This is a standard either more or less equal, just lower or a lot lower than Logan cup, depending on the league itself and players need to rape the opposition.
Ten years ago, Everton we talked about a player going to a club in the Uk, they always did very well.
This recent trend of players going to the UK and having a mediocre time is concerning to me.

Back to Larry. You have to wonder why he was prepared to stab NW in the back. All those guys had to do was refuse the captaincy. I guess they would have imported one, but if the players don't stick together they deserve what they get.
Doubt it’s that deep.
Probably more
‘Yo Larry youre skipper tomorrow, congrats’.
‘Thanks Champ’.

That’s probably more or less how it went.

Curran did play for Northamptonshire for a few years, but lost his county contract several years ago now.

Played club cricket in and around that stuff for years. This year played as an overseas player for the first time. Went fairly average to be honest. Good league, but I think the average just scraped over 30.

I suppose with Ali you can say well, it’s probably his first ever season playing outside of Southern Africa. With Curran you would have expected better.

But there’s no stopping him at the moment. On for another 50 at the moment. Ridiculous form.
