So here we have it.
Batting thus will remain a major concern for the rest of the series.
I wait to see what special Law and BD team comes up with within the next two days...
This defeat should be an eye-opener to whoever thought we were prepared.
Hoping a good test match now.

Terribly satisfyin win, though Ist innings 113 was scary. As weve seen with Zim (113 and 225/6) today and England(221 & 500+), teams that have the ability and will to improve can and will at some point, you cant keep a good team down twice (Bang(188 & 147) . 1st win this season, though weve bn in with a shout once or twice (SA 1 run). Correct me if im wrong but i think this ability we are developing to build and pace innings will invariable filter thru to 50/50 as well

Why didn't Wally Waller let Forster get his century instead of stealing the runs.
How is that being a team player.

A talented batsman but a modest, hardworking character, Stuart Matsikenyeri is the third of three school friends from Churchill Boys High School, Harare to represent Zimbabwe in international cricket. - Cricinfo.

It's not a First Class match, the stats won't be recorded.Zimfanatic69 wrote:Why didn't Wally Waller let Forster get his century instead of stealing the runs.

The only concern about such a comprehensive win, as I mentioned in the mind games thread, is that this could be a pretty big wake up call to Bangladesh. I don't reckon they'll be too pleased about losing to a second string Zimbabwe team.

true but going forward, ths was 90 % of Bangla's test team (Tamim will come in). Nthn much will change in 2 dayz. My opinion if we shut Tamim & Shakib up, the test is ours. Our line up is only getting stronger from this practice match in both batting and bowling departments, though news of Mawoyo nd no Mutizwa is worrying. Mawoyo hs failed in every attempt, he hs bn given ample chances, Forster in the few chances he has had has converted his starts. Mayb Mawoyoz ability to wear dwn the new ball albeit without scorin put him in. Cnnt wait for Thursday !!! B-)

A backlash is to be expect indeed! Initially you pointed it out clearly that we could send in a shadow side in order to mislead them. Not a bad idea in itself, but it was unavoidable for them to get a challenge. They were playing themselves and us, and they lost to both!brmtaylor.com admin wrote:The only concern about such a comprehensive win, as I mentioned in the mind games thread, is that this could be a pretty big wake up call to Bangladesh. Though i agree with you...but from a BD fan's point of view, this aint a very satisfying display of batting.brmtaylor.com admin wrote:It's not a First Class match, the stats won't be recorded.Zimfanatic69 wrote:Why didn't Wally Waller let Forster get his century instead of stealing the runs.

I would like to see the team get back the confidence and play on Thursday...
On the other hand...Zim's win will be a morale booster for the main squad ahead of the test and that is a big plus point.

I think he was joking warwolf. We are playing Bangladesh and so discussing Bangladesh (in a game against Zim players no less) is entirely appropriate and welcome as far as I'm concerned. I liked the insight from your interplay with A_BD_Fan; that Razzak is generally not viewed as a Test player. That suits me fine because I've had nightmares of him taking Five-fors all over the place.warwolf wrote:I thought foreign members are welcome in this forum!!!Maweni wrote:

As for this match, like the other practice matches, they've been entirely fruitful for Zim. Now Mutizwa has played himself into the test team, and Mawoyo out of it. I still have lingering concerns about Ervine's form but his 42 has saved him I think. With Raza waiting in the wings ready to pounce like Mutizwa has done, I'd be careful if I was him. The middle order finally becomes stronger with Mutizwa and Taibu in (Chakabva has failed to convince) but the opening slot is still up for grabs on a permanent basis if we keep Taylor at 4. Masakadza likes to be at 3, so let's keep him there. Sibanda will open, so no problems there (finally, I remember the uproar just this guy's name used to provoke at ZCF ). Taylor at 1 and Mutizwa at 4 can be a permanent first choice lineup for a long time and I like it. I'm not adverse to Taylor at 4 and some other opener found but not for the Bangladesh test, the time for experiments is over (although since I proposed the "Mutizwa for opener" experiment, I reserve the right to back that theory despite what I've just said ). Taibu didn't have a good time with the bat but his wicketkeeping practice must have done him some good and besides, he and Chigs have the proven ability to get a 100 somewhere. I still don't know whether Meth or Utseya or none will get in but that's a good problem to have.
