Our line up is only getting stronger from this practice match in both batting and bowling departments, though news of Mawoyo nd no Mutizwa is worrying. Mawoyo hs failed in every attempt, he hs bn given ample chances, Forster in the few chances he has had has converted his starts. Mayb Mawoyoz ability to wear dwn the new ball albeit without scorin put him in. Cnnt wait for Thursday !!! B-)

Yes that was pretty much our test team...though few chances are not improbable. We have not played Rubel, Riyad (in balling), Shuvagoto and off course Tamim.

I will retrain from commenting on who is going to win as its an open-ended game.

Good luck for thursday!

I think he was joking warwolf. We are playing Bangladesh and so discussing Bangladesh (in a game against Zim players no less) is entirely appropriate and welcome as far as I'm concerned. I liked the insight from your interplay with A_BD_Fan; that Razzak is generally not viewed as a Test player. That suits me fine because I've had nightmares of him taking Five-fors all over the place. :D

As for this match, like the other practice matches, they've been entirely fruitful for Zim. Now Mutizwa has played himself into the test team, and Mawoyo out of it. I still have lingering concerns about Ervine's form but his 42 has saved him I think. With Raza waiting in the wings ready to pounce like Mutizwa has done, I'd be careful if I was him. The middle order finally becomes stronger with Mutizwa and Taibu in (Chakabva has failed to convince) but the opening slot is still up for grabs on a permanent basis if we keep Taylor at 4. Masakadza likes to be at 3, so let's keep him there. Sibanda will open, so no problems there (finally, I remember the uproar just this guy's name used to provoke at ZCF :D ). Taylor at 1 and Mutizwa at 4 can be a permanent first choice lineup for a long time and I like it. I'm not adverse to Taylor at 4 and some other opener found but not for the Bangladesh test, the time for experiments is over (although since I proposed the "Mutizwa for opener" experiment, I reserve the right to back that theory despite what I've just said  ). Taibu didn't have a good time with the bat but his wicketkeeping practice must have done him some good and besides, he and Chigs have the proven ability to get a 100 somewhere. I still don't know whether Meth or Utseya or none will get in but that's a good problem to have. :W:
Very good overview. It would be helpful to understand what challenge is waiting for us.

i dont know what to do with Mawoyo . He needs to be delivered from the spirits that are haunting him . Freak injuries , sudden loss of foam . Its like when he is all set up he just looses it .

Do we have it in us to return the title '' weeping boyz of world cricket'' to its true owners this tour? I hope so
Congratulations to Forster and Craig on a super effort. The pitch was mindful yesterday when Bangla failed however there meek surrender and pathetic display is not going to change in test as well. Their forum might expect innings win but these are Zimbabwean conditions and i think the early they give respect to us the better they will soak the test loss heartbreak. Yes i am tooooo biased but thats what my username suggests.

Craig Ervine was just waiting for the Bangladeshis to arrive obviously.

I would think any result in this test other than a win for Bangladesh would be considered a disappointment for Bangladesh?

Not really...we are expecting a draw as well.

Considering we are returning after a long time to the longer format...that would also be fine.

Good win, guys. All I'll say is that beating us in a full 5 day game when we put in a 100% effort is going be a lot tougher.

Best of luck, enjoy, and this should be a great series.
