Melbourne Renegades have officially signed Tawanda Muyeye as replacement for Laurie Evans.

Watching the Renegades vs Stars and saw Muyeye field a ball. Was like, WTF! So technically Muyeye becomes the second male Zimbabwean to play in the BBL.
Weird that he was signed as a replacement, but didn't make the 11.
Edit: Made mistake on who was first Zim male.

I could be wrong but I think the use to have a program that would encourage recruiting cricketers from other smaller nations.
Re: Zimbabweans in franchise league
Yeah, over the years there have been players from PNG, China, Singapore and a few other smaller nations that have signed with BBL teams. They are not part of the roster but are considered developmental players. Spend the season with the team and learn as much as they can.
