Matty Welch must be the most frustrating batter on the domestic scene. Evidently he is one of the more naturally gifted stroke players.

Thinking about it, we've genuinely got a batch of batters now who are scoring runs domestically.

Marumani
Madhevere
Nick Welch
Matty Welch
Johnothan Campbell
Ben Curran
Navqi
Bennett

These are all young lads as well. I really hope Bawa and Myers can get in the mix too and give the selectors some real headaches.

Scrub the 'no Antum Naqvi' as cricinfo have now swapped him in and Awad out, Changa still appears to be the son of Charles Coventry but Rhinos ended the game with the big dick

Evans has bowled 9 overs on the trot this morning. Not sure that is very sensible as he comes back from a long term injury!

Perhaps he is pushing himself to get back into top shape. Trying to prove a point. Great effort from the lad. Will be interesting how he fits in the thick of things with selectors seemingly content with the current quartet of muza, richie, nyamhuri and gwandu.

Well he should be fully fit, he can't risk coming back half fit.
He can't risk another long term injury. He's a better option all day than Trevor or Newman and despite his numbers he can absolutely hold a bat.

The other option for this test was obviously Burl. They're so determined to go by stats, but only when it suits them, that they'll never field our strongest side.

We should be beating Ireland! They're not that good.

Evans easily is a better option than the last 2 and our batting would be strengthened too. Hope he can make it in asap.
