I disagree...the run rate is only 2.77, even lower than what Zimbabwe had. That might be a high run rate in the 1950s, but thats as low as you can expect in today's day and age. Tamim was 15 off 33, when he was cracking run a ball tons against India and England (twice). So I would say the bowlers bowled exceedingly well, especially Vitori.eugene wrote:Lostart wrote:Bowlers going ok, but.... far too many boundaries given away. It seems to be five good balls and one gift every over. Need a little more control to build the pressure on the batsmen.
This is really my only complaint about Jarvis and Vitori. There were alot of boundaries early on, even after wickets fell. I don't doubt they will rectify this problem over time.

I think the many boundaries is a result of the field setting which were very attacking. There was no one in the extra cover region for Ashraful as were trying to get him to drive and induce an edge. Vitori was guilty of serving Ash with half volleys- he didnt bowl particulary well to right handers. Vitori needs to bowl the correct length to right handers especialy Ash-the-fool who seem to have adjusted well to play him.

First day of the match I've been able to actually watch instead of just following a scorecard. The lads do look good in whites.

Twice now... Vusi is a very good fielder though, I think the commentators are being a bit harsh. It wasn't a regulation catch, so to speak.

Vitori!!!!!!!!!!!
He has looked really threatening to the right handers coming around the wicket on such a wide angle. Great to see him make the breakthrough.

So much for the "nothing to worry the right-handers" part of the pitch report, then...brmtaylor.com admin wrote:He has looked really threatening to the right handers coming around the wicket on such a wide angle.
