so many bit bowlers: RTD. AH, EC, PT and no place for a specialist bowler like Garwe. How rubbish is he? I am not sure about Zhuwao, but can garwe not take his place?andybligz93 wrote: 5.P.Trego

Jarvis, Price, Hall, Chigs plus bit part bowlers should be a fine attack.

Re: Eagles T20 Squad
sorry Jemisis but these guys ARE the bit part bowlers i was refering to. Why is Garwe overlooked. That is a genuine question, he is one of a few players i have never seen, not on legal, semi-legal highlights nor in the fleshJemisi wrote: ... Hall, Chigs plus bit part bowlers .

Re: Eagles T20 Squad
That is more of a reflection on Kenya than Mashonaland I reckon.
The rapid demise of Kenyan cricket has been very disappointing. In 2003 they were one win away from Test status and now they have a fight on their hands just to retain their ODI status. The fall of Kenya is probably why the ICC are so wary of granting Test status to Ireland or anyone else.

I don't think what many people realised in 2003 was that Kenya's success was not the beginning of something great, but infact the culmination of an unusually talented bunch of cricketers that had come out of Kenya. Since 2003 Kenya has struggled to replace its veterans as the next generation were not nearly as talented. The concern with Ireland or anyone else is if their success is sustainable beyond the current generation. There were similar concerns about Zimbabwe when it was granted test status.

Its allways amazed me that Nambia havant had more sucess as they have one of the best school strutures in Africa which has produced the likes of Craig williams who is a fine player. They also get a trickle of South Africans playing for them including jacques ruldolph's brother.Flower power wrote:Test Cricket is not just your XI only , its your A team , your Under 19s , your Academy , First Class system , Schools systembrmtaylor.com admin wrote:That is more of a reflection on Kenya than Mashonaland I reckon.

They have just won a T20 series with Kenya 6-2 so hopefully this is a time they can really kick on and qualify for the world T20 next year.
