Really? I always felt he lost more than he gained from his stance...which can easily lead to self-rightousness (his own percieved sacrifices being all that's left). he's hardly got a glowing musical career - it's about in line with his musical talent - he has an audience.

Anyway, GB, solid but unpectacular...and seemingly a nice fellow...all the ingredients to be overlooked!
He left as his career was about to be over, if he felt that strongly about it why didnt he do it before

not quite the end of his career - he was a darn sight younger than G Flower. Why didn't Flower do it before? i guess they didn't know what to do -- then an opportunity (or idea) arose ...

Looks like he has also done a good job as a coach. Mountaineers winning the group stage and he seems to have made some useful overseas signings.
