this is what i wrote to him on fb:"I must say I have never been a cricketer selector but I am disappointed by the fact that you guys left out Vusi in the squad. Regardless of wat he did, why did you guys not give him a written warning? Zimbabwe is a fragile team Mr Makoni we can't be messing around with our batting order. Your decision to replace Vusi is not a wise one at all Stuart has got a terrible average in both Tests and ODIs.Stuart had his chance and he blew it. Why not give Rikki Wessels a passport? He has made it clear he wants to play for Zim.You, Kevin James and Kevin Curran are terrible decision makers."
and he said point taken

Re: Givemore Makoni
I would be careful not to speak that way about Matsi. He may just disappoint you. Don't forget, Vusi was just as poor, if not even worse prior to being called up during the World Cup. Matsi's already shown what he can do against quality bowlers, albeit in a Twenty20 competition. Still, none of our other international batsmen(Taylor included) looked nearly as good as was. He's also played some fine innings in our Logan Cup and 50-over competition as well this season.
I'd reserve judgement until the first couple of ODIs......Forget Rikki!
Good of you to get through to him. Wonder what he made of your statements beyond 'point taken'!

Re: Givemore Makoni
Sorry to nit-pick, but are you sure about " He's also played some fine innings in our Logan Cup and 50-over competition as well this season." If it were not for the lone 144 innings, that healthy average of 26 would be somewhat, less flattering. But granted T20 and Pro50 is much better, and hence the recall to the limited overs squad.hhm wrote:I would be careful not to speak that way about Matsi. He may just disappoint you. Flower Power:Your Reponses
1) Someone is given a written warning once they have committed the offence (basic employment rule)
so that they dont do it again and the consequences are suffered when the person repeats the same mistake
2) I have chatted to Riki and he has told me he wants to play for Zim
3) As for the passport issue he can push for it as wat other selectors have done (ECBfor example)
