this isnt a thread about Ballance, its a thread about the missing players. Players who should be playing for Zim but are not. Why are they not playing for Zim and what has to be done to change it?

I think you guys underestimate fan power and the influence it can have. I think what needs to be setup is like a fan group that can talk with ZC and interact with the board in order to help improve the way things work.

This system is used by many teams around the world, infact the Aussie cricket team has a supporters base they can interact with and see their concerns. I know this because my mate is one of those people.

sorry mate. ive only been on the forums for about a week, so i brought up the topic.

I just think its an important topic that we have quality players who for one reason or another refuse to play for Zim. Its something we should be addressing and making an effort to not lose players to other countries.

Im not only talking about Ballance, but others as well. Im also asking which players are missing out here that really should be in the team.

I wasn't having a go at you. I don't normally post on the forum, but it's just that there have been countless discussions on players leaving Zimbabwe for better opportunities and as long as we have the current admin it will be hard to attract them back.

its something that we need to change then. Surely the current administration should be able to see what is going on and looking to fix it.

BTW, i notice you live in Brisbane. Good to see another Zim fan living over here.

[Balance] would be in the team if he made himself available.

Sounds as if the reason for these players not wanting in is due to some problems arising from the board.
i think it's a simple as wanting a chance at an shot at the English side .. he's done ok in the couties, getting better towards the end of last season and i think - like SE - he's hopeful.

and if you keep calling a penguin a duck, he will eventually believe hes a duck.
hard to know with someone as young as Balance, whose context, unless independently and widely researched, may be distorted .. I would certainly encourage anyone having to make that decision to start with "why the hell has this happened?"

... if they ever feel a desire to call me up for national cricketing duty - they can find me in Antartica ...

these last few matches yes, but not really overall - there's been some overseas dross too.

missing players? Vusi and Mpofu were the most missed. apart from that, of those who are committed no one is SHOUTING out. I'm sure the likes of Ewing, Rainsford and Duffin are on the edge of selection again ...
