Agreed.

I am not a religious person but if Taibu's faith provides him with inner peace and makes him a better person, husband and father then i say good luck to him.
Oh the irony....
 I actually never thought of it when posting. I named myself after my favorite sports team.

he needs to make over 200 runs in the world cup group stages for me to be happy , he has way to much talent to being playing those gay sweep shots and trying to wollop the ball everyhwere , the guy is a natural stroke maker

Well I did a google search for "Eagle Eye Tabernacle" and nothing appeared on the first page and nothing on Wikipedia as well. Which probably means that this is a fairly new denomination. Anyway I will just go through the article and some of the comments.
Article - Also there are no more holidays for the family"
There is nothing wrong with going on holiday, I hope this is not under instruction of Eagle Eye!

Hopefully by coming to Christ he will realize his potential and strive to reach his full potential.

At a very basic entry level, that is cool, but unfortunately it will not be a saving "enough". He will have to obey and worship in truth

That is good for him, if an "arm" causes you to sin "cut it off". But if you look at the article it says his faith "I am reading church ie Eagle Eye Tabernacle" does not allow them to watch TV. That sounds more like a cult. I wonder what their position is on the internet

If you mean in seeking God, no he hasn't lost it, thats probably the best decision he has ever made. But if you mean the means by which he has decided to seek God ie via Eagle Eye Tabernacle then I agree with you he has lost it.

Amen, and if he is earnest it will make him a better person.

Finally in defense of Tibba
I am assuming Tibba was "lost" before and has now come into the light. That means he is a babe in the faith and will start to understand more as he grows. One thing that will come is that if he is still playing cricket then he will do so to the best of his ability for God's Glory. Hence the Zimbabwe team will benefit by the new attitude towards his game and his achievements

Why have I gone to all this trouble cos I really like and respect Taibu the cricketer. My team always starts with Taibu, Price and Utseya! I feel he can achieve even more than he has cos he has the potential and the talent and he seems to be a natural leader. And I sincerely wish him the very best in his endeavor to find God.

Good for Tatenda. If it makes him happy and is good for him then it is good for us.
A talented batsman but a modest, hardworking character, Stuart Matsikenyeri is the third of three school friends from Churchill Boys High School, Harare to represent Zimbabwe in international cricket. - Cricinfo.

For trying to save his soul i applaud him for that, but this whole "no tv" policy by the church i find it weird and sounds unethical in the sense that the church is now controlling and setting boundaries for its members. Basically thats how cults run, i think. Travelling every sunday to Gweru?? Jheez, i wonder how much fuel money he has to cough up and the distance too!

Is this why ? http://www.thestandard.co.zw/sports/283 ... ained.html You shall know them by their fruits. Give the tree time to grow and in due season it shall bear fruit.

What a waste... He could have done both. Vintage, taibu quits again. Right when he was playing well. he'll be back, trust me
