Darwins evolution of species for mankind.
How the earth got here. The big bang. What was there before that. I really do not know and if i did i would probably be in cern at the moment. I suspect we will gain more insight in the coming years based on what is going on in cern.
I really really cannot buy creationism and the biblical account. That is not to say it should not be ignored when educating children. As a theory children should learn it. I am not an atheist of the richard dawkins ilk who is as dogmatic and rigid in his views as the religions he opposes.

Try and watch your tone there fella'. I'm a catholic, and I follow the bible (i'm by no means a radical catholic) to a certain degree, and reading a comment like that is rather insulting. You're not as cruel and as stupid as the comment suggests, you've wrote some great stuff on the forum over the years, but don't ruin all that now by self proclaiming your hate for all Catholics in such a stupid manner. The topic of religion is always going to be a hot potato, so don't make the oven hotter! Have some damn respectZimfanatic69 wrote:PeopLe who follow jesus are gullible schmucks.
I really do not hate catholics or anyone else who follows a religion, it is their religions i have disdain for especially when they inflict their 'values' on the rest of us. In the uk a few years ago the sikh community got their knickers in a twist over a play called 'bezhti' and its contents, some of the scenes took place in a sikh temple. They violently protested and the play got pulled. That is outrageous. How dare they.people should have the right to see it if they want to without being threatened. Same for the bible bashers who protested about jerry springer the opera to the bbc and tried to get it pulled.
Look at the fuss over 'Life of 'Brian' when that came out and there is Norn Iron as well.
It is fine to object and raise objections to something. It is totally unacceptable, to me, due to some theistic dogma to try to impose that value on everyone else. There are politicians with a democratic accountability to do that.
If tatenda wants to go off and do 'the lords work' then that is his choice. I think he is throwing away his talent and his life.

Re: Taibu turns to God
what i dont get about all this is its not exactly like Taibu has mega rich $$$ flowing through his vains and out his poo hole.....
Hes no exactly giving up the game, to pick the bible up and going on a missionary to spend his days walkin the earth. I mean.... he could? but he will starve and likely all the little kids he has will also starve.
It means hes going to have to take a 9-5 job with the rest of the world and then spend his weekends spreading the word.....
Wouldnt it be easier with Zimbabwes relaxed schedule to keep playing, and devote MORE time to spreading the word in his downtime that way? As stated in the choppa thread they are oly on 7 months contract so that leaves 5 months he can preach and still have money in the bank left over. isnt that better? As well as previously pointed out he can use his celebrity status and role model status to influence people.
So yeah, i think its all just either a consipracy oran illusion to the real reasons, whatever that may be?
I turn to Baynham Gordema for the answer...

Re: Taibu turns to God
I get the feeling Tibba does not take advice from ANYONE and my best bet is that Tibba is being used by these uber prophets doing the rounds in H=Town and will take advantage of his celebrity status as ZIMDOGGY mentioned. There is so much opportunity to spread the word even while holding down a 9-5. But no, I dont have any answers or conspiracies, but will be in HTown in August and will snoop around and at least find exactly which church Tibba will be working for/with.ZIMDOGGY wrote:Wouldnt it be easier with Zimbabwes relaxed schedule to keep playing, and devote MORE time to spreading the word in his downtime that way? Unless if he is going to start his own ministry! If he does that and follows the current charismatic prosperity formula;
1. Collect Tithes
2. Prophecies (reveal members' cell phone numbers, birth dates etc)
3. Healing session
4. Deliverance from demons (The more bizarre, the better)
He may just rake in more a week than he did with ZC in a month...
On that note I would agree with Zimfanatic69 on the gullible part to a certain extent. A lot of people who are earnestly seeking Christ are not as noble as the Bereans who always searched the scriptures to ensure that what Paul preached say was true. They do not bother to search the scriptures and confirm what some of the uber-prophets (Makandiwa, Uebert Angel, TB Joshua) are doing and saying is even consistent with the Word of God, leading to a lot of manipulation. And if you try to point this out they hit you with the 'touch not the Lords annointed' he is the true man of God.

No good comes from religious debates. By their very nature, people have generally made their minds up one way or the other and aren't open to persuasion, so all you get is a poibtless argument.
A bit like some of our selection threads, really. Except that they're on-topic and religion isn't, so I'm locking this one.
