Re: Match thread: 1st ODI - Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe
I couldn't take my eyes off the match for the last 30 runs or so! It was one of those games where you were 1 or 2 balls away from being dead and buried, but luckily for us we had a superstar at the creaseSir Mupariwa wrote:WHER IS EVERYONE!!!!!

I've only been able to dip into this one - left home this morning with Zim on track for another woeful defeat, and just checked in now to find the Legend has worked his magic again. Suddenly my Monday feels so much better.

And the good news is, that puts Zimbabwe back above Ireland in the ODI rankings. Both teams have a rating of 19, which means you recalculate to 3 decimal places to find who's higher:
Ireland: 190 points / 10 matches = 19.000
Zimbabwe: 480 points / 25 matches = 19.200
Ireland: 190 points / 10 matches = 19.000
Zimbabwe: 480 points / 25 matches = 19.200

he has singlehandedly helped Zimbabwe turn around there fortunes and start to win and be competitive in the majority of games
only worry is how long will he stay around for

what an extra ordinary finish to a thriling one day match, ray price at its very best....
he is one of the few palyers in zim that are responsible for wins...
after andy flower he iss my fav......
what an alrnd performnce ,,
even utseya played really well, along with mupariwa ,
zim top order collapse again .
our bowlers r better batsmen then our top order

Good result obviously.
The batting is still worryingly far from international standard. Bangladesh are the only international side Zim are likely to bowl out for 120, so the batting has to improve...

We shud white wash these guys and cement our dominance over BD. Zim shud get used to winning, we have a lot of matches this year against good teams and guys need to know how it feels like to win and dominate.
12.4 Odhiambo to Vermeulen, FOUR, that's an appalling long hop, Vermulen had plenty of time to get into position, drink a cup of tea, and pull the ball towards the long leg boundary- his first boundary today

Damn! it seems like most of you have forgotten Waller, he revived an otherwise dying innings and to do that on Debut on a Asian wicket wicket even the Asians cant play themselves is magnificent. Price , Utseya did well but Waller was incredible

Re: Match thread: 1st ODI - Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe
Waller deserves a lot of credit for the win. He stuck around when no other batsman would. Not to mention the fact that this young man can play good cricket! He knows where the boundaries are, and he controlled his aggression. As I said in the other thread, all of his boundaries were risk free.
It was a shame he only got out for 24 - normally for Zimbabwe this would only be a par score, but given the circumstances (he top scored for Zim) his knock was excellent and vital.
