How could I have overlooked Shingis's exclusion? Shame on my head
It's all the more puzzling as Shingi is one of the more accomplished limited overs bowler in the country. I can understand why they've left out the one-man-yorker-machine Muzhange -- financial constraints mean we don't get to pick T20 specialists for the tour. But to leave out the only bowler besides Mpofu who has a decent slower ball at his disposal without being one-dimensional like Muzhange is hard to swallow.
But Shingi has never gotten a fair deal by the selectors/coaches.

Re: Training squad for Windies tour announced
They are taking it out on Shingi! Its Hamilton they dont like! But why are we surprised? ZC always have a surprise for us BECAUSE of the trade offs. If there is one thing ZC do consistently is spring in a surprise in the selection which only makes sense to them and to know one else.foreignfield wrote:But Shingi has never gotten a fair deal by the selectors/coaches.

Re: Training squad for Windies tour announced
Maybe it all comes down to race... i mean the white selectors choosing white players and the black selectors choosing black players. i see a patern of favouritism here. thats y Raza, Querl and Shingi cant make the cut. i have seen Raza bat and i have to say, not only does he have talent but he has guts. unlyk most of our batsmen he stands up to fast bowlers and his fielding is xcptnal. wen t cums 2 querl, we all kno wat he is capable of. by tryn 2 create a racial balance in our team, we fail to cum up wth the best squad. untul our selection policy changes we wont rily develop in2 a gud squad.
im not sure i trust Chakabva with the both the gloves and the bat. i reckon Mutambani is better. i thnk Taylor should keep in all three formats, drop him down to 5 in test matches and play Williams at 4.

Shingis exclusion from the 24 is a joke.
Maybe he might not make the 15, but he should be ahead of some of those net bowlers.

The Trade off!
I think this "Trade off" thing now deserves a thread of it's own, looks like Bayhous has yet another conspiracy...

Re: Training squad for Windies tour announced
Oh!!! that explains the Chakabva/Mutizwa constant inclusion.
Re: Training squad for Windies tour announced
yeah i dont know with the race thing,
i cant quite pu my finger on it but something is there... i notice 2 things
1. there seems to be a limit on whites in the team, 5/6 tops (aka.50/50) and nothing more. whites seem to be dropped for whites and blacks for blacks.
2. on the other hand, i see white selections that make me scratch my head a bit at times too. ervine/waller seem to be in the good books, and early in his career jarvis. and in the past, meth. although the latter can be defined as seeing that he had the mettl to trouble international bowlers so i wont officially include him.
so somethings up, theres a mixed message, but somethings up. maybe there a black faction and a white faction and they have struck a deal of some sort.

Re: Training squad for Windies tour announced
I have been saying this for awhile now, I am glad I am not the only one noticing. 4/5 whites in every side, 6/7 blacks in every side, only whites replace whites and blacks replace blacks. It is indeed a power sharing agreement with no room for Sikandar Raza.

But curiously enough, he continues to play for the Rhinos...Richard Muzhange has lost his place after failing a fitness test.
