Yeah, I was pretty surprised to come across it, especially as I was not looking for anything to do with Zim cricket really. I have since learned that the very picture, with very low resolution, is also on Cricinfo. Before I reveal the source, here's another one:

273. A black and and a white cricketer enjoying their cup of tea together at what is now Mutare Sports Club, a most unusual sight in the days before independence. You do not necessarily have to tell me who the players are (and only one of them is a Zimbabwean/Rhodesian), but can someone guess the time and occasion?

Is it from when a Commonwealth XI toured Rhodesia in the 1962-63 season?

No at all. The picture was taken on occasion of a tour match, that's as much as I can say without precluding the answer. Here is the complete picture. The white player on the left is the most prominent of the lot.

Is it a photo from the 1975 Eric Ellerine XI tour of Rhodesia? Don Wilson is the prominent player mentioned.
