Taibu's absence must be seen as an opportunity for the next generation.

I think we've really missed a trick by chosing Chakabva ahead of Mutumbami. I would be much more confident with him playing in the lower middle order right now.
Peterhouse U14C 4th change bowler and no. 10 batsman (but only because Aaron didn't have a bat).

Mutumbami will be blooded against the bangladeshi side that is touring Zim in april im sure. that will be the right way to do things against a side that is our equal for a debut

Chakabva hasn't done enough to be dropped and Richmond has had one big season. It is reasonable to wait for more compelling evidence from both of them to switch their places in the pecking order.

It need not be a shootout between Regis and Richmond. They can get in as specialist batsmen if they are talented enough. So, let us not debate the one spot they are trying to fill. They might both feature at 6 and 7 come Bangla series.

Well, I'd back Richmond ahead of Maruma atm.

I thought in that match he looked a very polished, confident batsmen, the fact that he was able to hold in the second innings in NZ showed he had character. Others have been critical for having flaws in his technique. It is just a pity that we are not playing enough international cricket to help these guys.

On the whole, it really hasn't been a bad tour so far with some good individual performances, albeit lacking competitiveness still. Just praying it is not ruined by another NZ debacle in the Tests, don't think my stomach will hold (saw that one on TV). Good luck team, hold firm.
