Firstly, I'm a black guy and I'm not interested in guys who sound wooden like Prosper, whose interviews were always excruciating. Secondly, being eloquent does not equal "talking white" whatever that means. I know many ethnic people back home have a thick accent but equally as many have a soft, dare I say an English-like sound, hence Pommie's nickname. Thirdly, what the hell was Ash thinking but good fielding by Taylor, leading from the front. He is one guy who is playing like he was hurt by the WI debacle. I had a large outburst after that tour and I must say Taylor and the team have responded well.ZIMDOGGY wrote:i dont think Tino is THAT good guys. he just has in team insight. Fredericks is better.
i think people just think because hes a black guy who talks white he MUST be good because he is different. its pommie syndrome!

Its amazing how one victory can paper over so many cracks.

I think this victory shows that our players are fighters, winning a test after a horror tour against the West Indies and unrest over contracts back home shows fight and guts.eugene wrote:Its amazing how one victory can paper over so many cracks.
Bowling attack has looked balanced and Taylor has starred with the bat.

I find it amazing that there are folk who think we can do much more than paper over cracks ... We just need enough papereugene wrote:Its amazing how one victory can paper over so many cracks.

Well if we get there it will only be our 10th, so it is pretty big.
Re: Match Thread - Zimbawe v Bangladesh 1st Test
Oh the cracks are still there. The top order are not doing their jobs, Bangladesh will respond in the 2nd Test and how will we respond in turn? Finally, our mental frailty hasn't been put under pressure as yet, save for that mini collapse in the 1st innings. But positive strides have to be acknowledged and dominating Bangladesh shows me and the world that perhaps we shouldn't be stripped of our status yet and that with more games we will improve.eugene wrote:Its amazing how one victory can paper over so many cracks.

Vusi must score some runs. He won't make a double failure next game. Hami made a contribution in the first innings and will make another one at least next game. They will have a good reason to stick with the bowling attack which keeps the tail strong. I think we can compete well even with an improving BD. Their main seamer has bowled a lot of overs and has little time to recover. Richmond will make more next game as well.

Maruma's resistance allowed Taylor to come in in the 16th over ... But id like to see Williams open if Tino is still unavailableJemisi wrote:Vusi must score some runs. Zimbabwe need to be clinical now. 4 wickets away from victory, let's get it done in the final session and have a days rest tomorrow.
Jarvis has been mostly brilliant. There's bee a few bad balls which have made him a bit expensive, but with the sort of lead we have the economy rate is not important. The wickets column is, and he's taken 3 great wickets.
Meth has looked very good, he's still getting the old ball to swing. Very economical. I'd stop short of saying he's become Zimbabwe's newest seam bowling sensation, but both he and S Masakadza have been selected to do a job (displacing Chatara who was good in WI).
Cremer has only bowled a couple of overs, but he's looked good. The sheer amount of turn he got caused Ashraful's run out.
