Should have known better. Chigs bowled foreignfield.foreignfield wrote:Elton is playing some sensible stuff all the while. I think we can still get 350.

Oh Chigs. Couple of overs back we were winning the session. Now we have clearly lost it. Big challenge to reach 300 and beyond now.

Not much hope for the tail to add a lot here, as there is not senior batsman anchoring things at one end. I'll be happy if we can just get the lead down to double figures

Wrote too soon, I avoided all comment until his 100, not to be. Now it's uphill.foreignfield wrote:Elton is playing some sensible stuff all the while. I think we can still get 350.

Oh no
Right on the stroke of lunch. I'm so disappointed for Chigs that he couldn't get his century, but it was a very good ball.
What is the aim now? We're still down by a long way, and we've got no specialist batsmen left.
I think psychologically, getting the lead to double digits will help. That is another 35 runs away. Realistically, getting 20 each from Cremer, S Masakadza and Meth would be nice. We also need to be mindful of taking time out of the game, so even if a few wickets fall and irrespective of the run rate I'd like to see the remaining batsmen grind out the next session.

I guess Robiul will back on straight after lunch for another 6 overs or so. Need to get through that somehow, tea is a long way away.
